Grenade Launcher's name denotes it fires 40mm grenades, thus the barrel's inner diameter is also 40mm.

Knowing this I can visualy compare the barrel to a dwarf and measure their height -
Dwarves are roughly 610 mm / 0.61 meters tall.

They are indeed dwarves.

(Disregard the fact that in the game engine's measures it's stated they are 1.5 meters tall.)

The actual answer to your post is that the 40mm Launcher just is not a 40mm launcher.

if the autocannon is 50cal it does roughly fit the scale of the 40mm GL. the inner diameter seems roughly 3x smalle than the PGL whould would be in line with reality
50cal doesnt necessarily mean 50bmg

i wonder how the scale changes if it is calculated based on the Thead
