IS DRG ALSO A BITCOIN MINER
DRG must be falling on some hard times if they have to bitcoin mine off of their employees computers.

In all seriousness though, is there any reason why this game makes my computer run so damn hot at even the lowest settings? The parts in my PC are not too old, and the parts in my brothers' PC are pretty new, but even then this game seems like too much. (my brother who is much more into computers built his own, and splurged for the perfect PC, but even he runs it only on medium settings saying it would be too hot if he turned it up) If i play for too long, parts start to get REAL HOT, and in my most recent session, I quit early because of a slight burning smell coming from my PC. I love this game and want to keep playing it, and I've played much more graphically demanding games on this PC for much longer periods of time, so I'm just not quite what the problem is.

Any tips or people who are having the same issue?

if you don't have a frame limit, and you have a decent cpu and a good gpu, it will push the frames to the limit.

check your frame rates and your temperatures.

FPS cap is in options under graphics. set that to your monitors FPS

without an FPS cap games will run as fast as possible. which of course tends to be very hot

Maybe it's the unholy amount of particles, my old laptop couldn't run smoothly without having the maximum particles reduced in the config file, and some mods installed too (Remove All Particles but Weapon and Tools, and Clutter Be Gone)

there isn't much to help with little to no information from your side

I've noticed this as well - in some moments fans in my PC go pretty loud on this one, for exactly clear reason.
It never goes up into dangerous temperaturesm, but when game runs not hotter ~60 deg in the thick of it and suddenly jumps 15 deg just when drop pod is about to open in salvage operation, it is kind of strange.

Pal, if you’re running hot enough to cause something to burn inside your PC, I’d say that’s definitely a PC issue and not a game issue lol.

Graphics are not everything when it comes to power requirements, which DRG is much more intensive on the CPU than the GPU. Cap the frame rate and lower any settings that the CPU would be processing, like particle effects and such.

not true though it's gpu heavy, if you turn on the graphics. muh 3080 is chugging like 200watts and muh 10700f is like meh no biggie 60w

Somebody who understands this more could probably correct me, but I do not think that’s close* to the max load for either your CPU or GPU.

it would probably be more CPU heavy than a lot of modern games
its terrain and models are relatively simple, being a horde shooter means a lot of AIs to process
but that doesnt really matter as settings and especially resolution change that a lot

what do you mean? my cpu goes up to like 180w and my gpu up to perhaps 300w (both are undervolted, although my gpu is slightly underclocked)

in any case, my cpu wasn't even breaking 50% utilization meanwhile my gpu is in the 70-90%

DRG is CPU heavy, specifically single core bound, so no; you might not see high CPU utilization because most of those extra cores are doing jack all.

If you're not capping your FPS your GPU will produce as many frames as it can; resulting in high GPU use.

i see however, for a single threaded game, it seems well optimized enough to allow my gpu to not bottleneck though. from my experience, a game like mount and blade: bannerlord, my cpu would heavily bottleneck my gpu performance in a controlled benchmark.

DRG mines a lot of things (mostly nitra, gold and morkite), but bitcoins aren't one of them.

Yeah your system has terrible cooling; or is a potato.
