Overcharger + Burning Nightmare question
One of my Cryo Driller builds uses EPC with Burning Nightmare as the secondary, and usually I freeze the targets, then use a charged shot to finish off a whole pack of them.

Recently, I got Overcharger, so I threw that on there. Even some build videos I found recommend combining Burning Nightmare and Overcharger.

But I noticed in actual use, with Overcharger equipped, instead of flying through the mob like it used to, the charged shot hits the first target, and just stops in place.

Is that a bug, or some intended interaction that I'm not understanding?

It's happened every time I use the OC, on multiple missions.

Pretty sure Nightmare was changed forever ago to not fly through enemies cuz it was too powerful. Now you have to sort of skim it along the top of a swarm.

Burning Nightmare (BN) causes Charged Shots to pass through all targets, dealing maximum direct damage when they are touched by it and piercing straight through them. The downside is a reduction to charge speed and a reduced area-of-effect on the Charged Shot. BN Charged Shots with the Burning Nightmare mod will never detonate - they pass cleanly through enemies and dissipate with no explosion upon contact with the world.
The damage conversion is bugged and causing the projectile to deal more than 100% of its total damage when contacting enemies.

I don't know about the actual numbers, but without Overcharger, this is exactly how it works. I shoot into a pack of frozen bugs, and it passes through all of them.

bn overcharger epc is working fine for me

is it happening on solo for you? is it only happening on frozen, or on everything?

Ok, yeah, that's weird. It works fine in solo, but when I join public lobbies, it just stops midair when it hits the first target.

Eh, I take it back then maybe, I hardly ever use the EPC at all and just thought I remembered that being the case.

sounds like a client issue, like with axes stopping in midair.

most likely a latency issue, all the more reason to HYOG

Latency issue, occurs regardless of OC or build aside from equipping the upgrade ofc
Seems to happen less with projectile speed upgrade in my experience

It's a clientside issue. The nightmare projectile is considered a normal projectile for a couple frames when playing as a client, which means if you shoot something at point blank range it won't work.

I can confirm its suppose to work, prehaps its a good idea to test some things out and post the info in the bug section.
If the projectile loses its hitbox so it can pass through creatures too late in some situations, it would be an easy fix for the devs to change this.
