It doesn’t happen often since I am used to dodging her mines, but occasionally I will be low on health and she’ll lob a mine that I can’t avoid and it’ll down me. It’s those instances that make me hate her lol.
yeah that's not really the most convincing argument man
also damn, haz 4, aren't you a badass
I don't think I've ever seen much inbetween. Not as a rule, anyway. It's telling of an enemy that's just not well tuned if its difficulty only pendulums into either Babbie Mode or Rusty Rake Prostate Exam.
What I'd try doing is place one of the charge-suckers on top of the turret with more HP so there's a clear target for even greenbeards to shoot at and make progress with at all times during the encounter, and create an easier segue of combat ala "Okay, the top weakpoint is destroyed, now let's all focus on figuring out the bottom one!"
I assume the idea of the charge-suckers being on both sides is supposed to encourage players to intuitively learn that strafing around the turret's poor tracking will keep them safe, but it's not really working.
Also a good incentive if you want to learn how to avoid bugs, because if the bugs don't kill you, Bet-c's grenades will
it gets in the way all the time, it's a constant risk of friendly fire, it barely does anything against hordes (no target prioritisation means it will often go for the lone swarmer 50m away rather than the praetorian bearing down on you)
worst of all you have to fix it otherwise it makes a horrible, shrill beeping noise which can be heard throughout the entire cave. i have a mod which shuts it up but that doesn't stop teammates from just repairing it anyway
That was more to show that even in big swarms it's still pretty easy to dodge.
some solutions i can think of from the top of my head are like use dash, or have your driller dig around her and ♥♥♥♥ as she murders countless bug families (i think people really underestimate the amount of power driller gives you in general)
also haz 4 is based. playing on any haz level is based. play the game how you want it.
Bet-c as an ally is less than useless, she’ll rarely get anything meaningful done usually opting to lob grenades up at the ceiling which fall short and hit dwarves on the ground, she pushes you about and unlike molly you have no control over how she moves and just have to deal with her pushing you about or bodyblocking your shots
I’ve seen boss fight betc kill more glyphids than “ally” betc
If you prepare the terrain a bit on salvage, osr or escort she can take out quite a few bugs by herself. The mileage on other mission types might vary depending on terrain, numerous small, stretched out tunnels are a bad place for adding another mule.
Overall I'll pick her up in most cases. I can't remember any situations where team/host insisted on leaving her behind.
1 or my 3 "Lives" Lost, Once Betsy is on my side, I will never get close to going down again
And yes, Betsy CAN AOE hit you with Her Grenades, push you around when you don't want Her to, and sometimes wander to far off- But as a Player, Solo or with a Team, I'm always moving and trying to not be stationary, unless it's a Salvage Mission, or I find or prepare a Great Killing Area- So Solo, I just give myself a bit of space from Betsy, get out of the clearly marked Orange Grenade Impact Warning Zones, and run towards Her if we are seperated, but If I find myself with a Big Glyphid Grunt Swarm Horde- I then Lead the Grunts to Betsy and
Her concentrated fire
But again, I play Solo most of the time- With a Team, I can see Betsy being in the way
much more, or even unnecessary if you have a Good, Balanced Team, and they Betsy
starts wandering through the middle of a controlled fight, disrupting things- And in the Past, Years Ago, there WAS a Terrible Glitch where Betsy would actually Walk over to you, then
Walk OVER you, then actually "Sit" on you, trapping you and you couldn't move until she
got off, sometimes for several minutes, you could maybe angle 40% of the way and shoot
but that was it- Thankfully that no Longer Happens
I still do Like Betsy with a Team, usually 1-2 of the Team won't, so I'll actually "Hang Out"
with Betsy as a 2nd seperate Unit a bit away- Especially as Engie (Turrets and Betsy) or Scout (My Less Damaging, but Precision Firing with Betsy's Asssauly Capability) - I will Hang more with Betsy, but still come together with the Team to get Objectives, Revive others if needed, etc- You can make working with Betsy go well with a Team, and actually Keep Her Away from those Teammates who don't want Her most of the time, as Betsy will move either completely Randomly, or stick next to a Player- If I volunteer to be that Player, I've noticed Betsy will
kinda "Bond" with Me
Bet-c with players doesn't really make a huge difference and more players mean more friendly fire.
And as a boss, I guess I prefer solo since with people it's either too easy or too chaotic.
