I very strongly dislike the Corruptor as an enemy.
It's frustrating to fight, has too much area spread for how much it moves, trying to deal with it solo is an uphill battle because of how bad Bosco's ADHD is, and unlike corruption spikes, levels that have them don't get marked.

I really, REALLY didn't want to deal with one in a solo low-02 Doretta mission, but that's what's got me here writing.

The corruption spikes on their own were bad enough, with the rockpox larvae they'd constantly send out, but at least then you could know they'd be there and track them down before getting on with the rest of the mission. This is just..."hey, here's this extra bit of "screw you" wandering directly in your path. Hope you can manage!"

Edit: WHY IS BOSCO SHOOTING AT IT WHEN ITS CORE ISN'T EXPOSED YET?!? You incompetently-programmed bundle of executive dysfunction, IT'S COVERED IN LITHOFOAM. USE YOUR FLIPPIN' VACCUUM YOU USELESS TOASTER!!

If it's a solo O2 Escort can't you let it be, if it proves to be too much trouble?

I would finish the mission and then go back for it; from what I've seen, it doesn't get aggroed as easily as Bet-c or the Korlok weed.

I've enjoyed fighting Corruptors so far, but knowing when the best time to engage it is should be considered before fighting one.

I had one on escort the other day, and you can freely ignore it since it does not activate until you call down a cleaning pod.
A. Skyborne Jun 27, 2023 @ 7:31am
Even if you ignore it,it's still spreading rockpox creep everywhere. Which is a bit of a problem when it's directly on top of Dotty's fuel stop point, for example :/

Its simply proves all the jazz about korlok "just" needs a trigger to activate to "solve" most issues is nothing than hot air.

Color me suprised.

Well, in that case I would consider calling down the Cleansing pod and use it to suck up the infection from whichever areas you need to traverse, if it's so bad, without foaming the Corruptor itself.

In case it still gets triggered, let it roam away.

Even when you call down the pod doesn't trigger the Corrupter, once you hit it with foam is when it gets triggered.
Also just something worth noting for future Escort missions, have your Drillers dig out tunnels to the Heartstone first before even activating Doretta as the map's usually going to be in a straight line from where Doretta's facing in the crate, it can help mitigate issues such as the Corrupter or any other pre-spawned enemies such as the Korlok or Crassius, better to clear out these enemies out before even starting the mission proper.

Most of many corruptors ive fought has been solo haz 5 and they’ve basically never been an issue outside of just being kinda time consuming due to chasing the stupid thing when it runs

Bosco jank aside (if he shoots when the whole core isn’t open just ping the corruptor to have him vac) i think solo corruptors are very easy given you can spam foamer and never need to backtrack to a vacuum, once every armor layer is gone it dies in like 2 seconds so its basically just a foaming simulator mixed with a crappy game of jump rope

Try having Jet Boots, my Escort mission had a Corrupter at the LZ but in the same chamber were Jet Boots, made fighting it and the Korlok later on in another chamber easier, especially since I knew the Korlok was also in this cave thanks to it getting triggered by the poison gas from the mushrooms.

I fought it solo on haz 2 before and I just see it as a Dark Souls boss :D

Maybe it's different in multiplayer, but as a solo enemy it just sucks ass. Love to burn half my ammo pool shooting a practically stationary target after praying bosco vacuums it instead of staring at a puddle of foam for like, 5 minutes straight. Between that + the silent, instakill-by-fall-damage stinger I'm seriously considering getting mods to remove all the new content this season.

Someone must not HEAR this sound when the Stingtail's about to grab! Or don't play with sound at all!

They play the sound effect roughly half of the time, being generous. I'm sure it's a bug, but once it gets patched, we're still playing "strafe or die instantly from fall damage."

No, give me two of them.
Make it come out of meteorites if we don't deal with them in time.

It occurs to me that I have fought like 5 now, how tf have I not tried to sink an ammo pod on one of these snot stacks for shifts and gigs yet.
That said, I have not been paying attention to how it moves, it does strafe and stay often enough that one could predict a sweet, meet and greet collision course...

It's been consistent each time I've encountered Stingtails both solo and multiplayer missions so.
