Deep Rock Galactic
The lack of basic sound effects is so unnerving!
So just started playing with my friends and damn, I really want to love this game, but the lack of basic sound effects is so unnerving to the point that I just had to stop playing it.

This game is on its 4th season, surely you could add some footsteps to them? Or maybe some clinking when a resource hits the ground?

The lack of weight to the sound effects just makes me physically sick to the point I have to quit playing.

Anyways, I know many of you guys enjoy the game, but is anyone having this issue with the lack of basic sound effects messing with your brain?

normally my issue is that i can't hear someone get downed from across the map because the sounds of burning insects and gunfire drowns everything else out. not sure what your issue is, but i would check your audio settings.

It's funny you say that about the game that revolves all around the sound effects. The important ones that is.
Every enemy can be recognized solely from the sound they make, enemies have footsteps so you can hear them coming, more often than not, you hear things before you see them ect.
Better get that looked on.
Their priorities do seem rather placed poorly if their review for Darktide's any indicator. Because of ALL of ♥♥♥♥ wrong with Darktide apparently "bugs with the game's progression" is more important than oh I don't know like BEING ABLE TO SELECT THE MISSION YOU WANT TO PLAY or BEING FORCED TO HAVE MORE THAN ONE PLAYER IN A PRIVATE LOBBY JUST TO PLAY THE GAME ITSELF.
I don't agree with OP. I think DRG's sound is perfectly fine and is serviceable to the gameplay. That doesn't mean it couldn't be better.

I used to think Overwatch had good sound, plenty informative and mixed well-enough. Then they revamped the sound engine for OW2 and I realized how bad OW1 sound actually was. Comparatively DRG is closer to OW1 in quality than OW2, imo. It might be hard for people who are used to it to discern cause you get used to it the longer you play.
Not realy having this issue, since it just means you can hear enemies more clearly.
But some ammo/mag dropping on the ground giving sound would be nice.
Footsteps get annoying real fast, so i rather not have that in the game personaly.
WHERE ARE THE BEARD SCRATCHING EFFECTS!? KARL ASMR NOW OR RIOT!

Ok crap now i do want more sound effects.
If your teammates voicelines isn't constantly filling the dead air, you aren't playing the game right
Mfw when the game doesn't make 10 unnecessary sounds = :(

Besides the sound in drg is good, no need for unnecessary sounds that would make the game horrible to be attentive at.
HUH?

Ive got footsteps, and even hear shell casing hit the ground.
On the rig, you hear the steel toed boots on the deck plates. In Mission I hear my boots crunch in the soft pack snow. or the dusty thuds on the ground and plant bulbs popping when I step on them.

Is that what you dont have?
But this game DOES have footsteps.
OP needs to see an aurologist if he can't hear the footsteps in the game.
turn off dialogue and turn up ambient.

Even though "OW2" is just OW1 because Blizzard scrapped the sole reason for the 2 in OW2.
