2. Mine stuff/Do objectives.
3. Buy guns, craft upgrades; drink beer.
You get extra minerals in the missions that are used to craft and upgrade weapons.
I bought this game in the summer sales without knowing what to expect and I've been playing non stop since then.
No.
This isn't Minecraft lol, you don't have a "base" really (in that sense.)
DRG is like any other 4 player co-op shooter, you join a lobby, play a mission with 3 other players for 20-30 minuets; then do it again.
There are several different "modes" and each mode has it's own objectives, like mining, or defending an area; or killing some bosses.
Closest thing we have to Campaign, is Assignments; which are like a string of missions back to back for rewards.
Launch a procedurally generated map with a primary objective (like "mine 250 morkite", "kill 2 bosses", "get 6 mcguffins"), explore the cave using movement tools, kill bugs as needed, mine as needed, leave, upgrade weapons (optional), rinse and repeat.
There is no endgame, there is no bigger purpose. It's a "start a mission, enjoy, and forget about your work day" kind of game.
Some sub-objectives include cleaning up contamination, defeating a boss, collecting things other than ore, or mining different types of ore.
The game is almost like a highscore game. You go in, try to maximize your loot, and get out. Of course, you want to complete the objective along with maximizing your loot.
2. AND
3. STONE
So if you play CS:GO or any other 1st person shooter, you would be fine. Although the randomly generated 3d maps sometimes disorient, but you will learn how to live with that.
If you prefer Minecraft and Solitaire you won't be fine, you leaf lover!
The resources you mine are used to buy weapon upgrades, cosmetic upgrades, promotions (after you reach level 25 with a dwarf), there are weekly assignments (core hunt, weekly bonus assignment, deep dive and elite deep dive) you should be able to do everything but EDDs after a week or two of playing. Core hunts and deep dives reward you with matrix cores, a weapon overclock and a cosmetic overclock, the latter of the two are made in the forge. Overclocks can range from small weapon bonuses to dramatically changing the way a weapon works (will make some guns shoot mines, change missile launchers into missile shotguns, turn your grenade launcher into a mini nuke launcher, etc) or give it an extra ability. Forging overclocks costs materials.
It's not a base building game, it's more like left4dead with bugs instead of zombies and much more customization. If you like squad shooters you'll like DRG.
