Wave cooker with Diffusion ray OC, overdrive and exothermic upgrade
Your choice of grenade
Set the entire swarm on fire from the other side of the cave and vaporize them with the wave cooker, kills praets and oppressors just as fast. Can't have engi racking up all the kills now can we? Does nothing against dreads so don't bother trying
The goal is to focus on melee and drilling foes. You freeze them then drill them. The vampire perk refills your health. It's strong against swarms of grunts and you can fight Praetorian, oppressors, and Wardens easy. Forget Dreadnoughts and bots, this is not where this build shines. You also have to balance drilling with killing if you use the drills as a weapon you will run out of ammo.
The Build:
Main: Cryonator. (I run mine for spin up, ammo, then coolant)
Secondary: Whatever floats your boat.
Nade: Impact axes
Drills: I used barbed drills in the first.
For Perks I run:
Elemental Insulation
Thorns
Vampire
Berserk
See you in Hell
I realize this has been done before, but it sure is fun deleting swarms of frozen enemies,
Sludge Pump: Take puddle mods, the duration mod, and the slow mod w/ Disperser Compound.
CWC: Take ammo, slow on T3, and Neuro on T5 w/ Gamma Contamination.
You have access to a ton of status effects that all combo fairly well, and you get the take advantage of a lot of the redundancy that otherwise exists with the sludge pump.
If uncorroded enemies enter puddles, cooker helps keep them there with extra slows, and even guards will very quickly die to a mix of neuro and radiation chip.
If you encounter larger targets, you can keep them away from you by locking them in place, outputting steady DPS as long as you keep your DoT effects active.
Both weapons also still have some usefulness apart from synergizing. The direct corrosion DoT is so good at base that it can carry the weapon's wave clear unaided (again, the cooker synergy is for puddle support and single-target). Gamma also gives the cooker the ability to quickly "mark for death" low health problem targets. Spitters, problem grunts, etc.
Although on some occasions I'll run all stock with the Crispr and Subata + Volatile Bullets. Never tried Sludge Pump & Subata + Toxic Catalyst, but I do know that combo exists.
Persistent plasma on the EPC is great for killing swarmers, but I don't really like the EPC, feels too clunky
Tranq rounds on the subata + goo bomber special/disperser compound means that enemies stay stuck in goo puddles for longer
Compact feed valves makes the flamethrower very versatile, EPC with persistent plasma can go well enough with this build, or the wave cooker
Sticky fuel can be good for area denial, but isn't very ammo efficient
Always liked snowball on the cryo cannon, even before the buff, excellent mactera delete switch, Though I personally dislike the cryo cannon a bit, though I used to love it.
I prefer gunner, gunner gets some of the coolest OCs
Generalist flamethrower decent at direct ignition and sticky flames ignition, paired with a wave cooker secondary with the temp shock T5 upgrade. Ignite and wave cook for an insta kill - really fun and satisfying!
All you need is C4 with
Extra Damage, Extra Charges and Extra range
Then go and delete those pesky scouts !
