No other game even comes close.
The negative review says otherwise.
But you left a negative review? Cries about a discord server and is too dumb to realize that ALL of discord is a cesspool of idiocy, and corrupt moderators plague every server. Just because the discord server is crap doesn't mean you should leave a bad review on the game, when the discord has nothing to do with the game itself anyway.
Now your own opinion of the game is entirely subjective, if you think it's overrated, then whatever. But crying about an external factor like the discord server in your review is just beyond stupid. The discord server has no effect on the game, or your experience of it.
Plus context of saying same in a thread literally titled
“DRG is the best game I ever played in my entire life“
If it was, then it can be considered a branch of the game itself, discord is just a tool to allow for communication. The moderators are de-facto ambassadors for the game as they are officially appointed.
It's difficult to get an exact comparison, though if you get posted an ad from your local member of <political party here> which currently has a president (just going to simplify to US politics) in office and that ad says <Group/person> is causing trouble, I and <party> wants to remove <group/person> from the country do you blame the president and the political party, or do you blame the postal worker who delivered the ad through your letterbox and rationalize that postal workers deliver all sorts of toxic mail every day and therefore it's their fault.
Or you buy an item from a company, phone up for help, the person on the helpline dislikes you for an unspecified reason and reports you to management, then the company revokes your warranty for said product because an employee claimed you were rude to them. Do you blame the telephone company for facilitating the call? Do you blame the call center? Or do you blame the company itself?
Case in point:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NfiIXooD77s
Do you blame Amazon, or the delivery driver for this? tl;dw is Amazon cancels a user's smarthome features because a delivery worker claimed the doorbell's automated "can I help you" was misconstrued by the driver as having made a racist remark. Footage was reviewed and it turns out the driver was wrong. Who do you blame for the revocation of services? Amazon, or the delivery driver who worked for Amazon?
Not the best analogies, it's hard to come up with one as the internet is vastly more complex than communication systems that came before it, though if you work for a company, even in a volunteer role, you are representing that company and the company should expect to be judged if you behave improperly at work.
If it were a third party discord then it shouldn't be considered in a review, bur since it's not their behavior reflects on the game itself, after all, if they employ people like that to moderate their discord, chances are their beliefs align.
Also, did he leave a thread here regarding his review, or are people legit going to steam accounts to check reviews before replying? As if so, that's pretty weird.
Off to have a call of duty moment at Alexa brb.
So you would let something as meaningless as a discord server influence your view on a game? The discord server is completely optional, and separate from the game. What happens on the discord server does not and cannot translate to the game itself. So some people get banned? Should I dislike DRG now because of that? Or should I hate on the developers for it? Or maybe I should leave a negative review and tell everyone how they should stay far far away from DRG because of the terrible discord server... Oh that's right I don't, because I don't give a damn about the discord server because it has absolutely no effect on the game I play.
And you cannot attempt to say that the discord server has some effect on DRG overall... it doesn't. And because the DRG server has no effect on the game itself then you shouldn't feel the need to mention it in your negative review. The discord server does not in any way alter your experience of the game, and if it does then maybe it's time for you to delete discord and forget about it altogether. Discord give you brain rot. Also your cherry picked examples mean nothing.
Also I only mentioned the review because someone else talked about it.
It's like saying that a tweets from a game devs official twitter shouldn't be grounds for not buying the game, like when Battlefield devs said that their game wasn't made for 'toxic haters' who cared about historical accuracy.
If a game had a toxic community, should that be grounds for a bad review? As game developers have less control over their community than they do over their official discord moderators. Think of discord as an embassy in a foreign country, if your ambassador goes around committing crimes, stealing cars, doing hit and runs and getting into barfights, or acting like Uday Hussein when he was in Switzerland, should that behaviour reflect on the nation or should people only say "I don't like <nation>" based on living there and ignore rouge ambassadors/high level nationals?
@OP
DRG is a great game, I really enjoy it.
wouldnt even be much more of a change - just remove the dwarfs head render (except for the glorious beard, of course) set up a swivel on the head section of dwarfs skeleton model with the vr viewport and then
if (90f >= abs(diff(mouseAxisAngle,vrAxisAngle)))
then
rotate(mouseAxisAngle)
else
rotate(vrAxisAngle)
