please just delete the fandom wiki already

i'm not mad that the wiki is now actively maintained on gamepedia since it's a much better site anyways. fandom ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sucks, it's loaded with ads and is basically unusable on mobile. no complaints there

however, there's no reason to keep both wikis running simultaneously. any information the first one had has been copied over to the new one. there's no reason to keep the old wiki up anymore, least of all when it's not being actively maintained and is, at this point, at least a year out of date.
you can't expect the average joe to know which one is the "right" wiki to visit, especially not when fandom is the more popular site anyways. search anything DRG related, and the fandom site is the one that pops up in search results because it's been around longer and people keep visiting it, which boosts its rankings in search engines

to make matters worse, someone is now adding their own weapon balance fanfiction to the fandom wiki which is completely fabricated. in what i found, the pages for the shard diffractor [deeprockgalactic.fandom.com]and the GK2[deeprockgalactic.fandom.com] have information about mods which aren't even in the game. this is absurd, and it looks badly on DRG as a game
just get rid of the fandom wiki. there's no reason to keep an outdated and un-moderated version of the game's wiki publicly available

I suggest a possible accelerationist solution to this problem: fill the fandom wiki with fanfiction so entangled with real information that it's plainly obvious it's useless. Redirect anyone with questions to the gg version.

Reasonable but boring solution nobody wants to do: someone actually maintains the fandom wiki to parity with the gg.

fandom is a terrible company and they have a system that internally promote their wikis with bot traffic, because they need to push adverts. you can't delete a wiki off of fandom because they'll restore it from backups for those ad clicks so you just have to make sure everyone coming into a fandom knows which wiki to use.

this is an extremely bad idea: it's only going to take one guy to use it as an opportunity to spew a bunch of racist bile or cover the fandom wiki in swastikas to turn this into a major problem

i understand the spirit but the smartest idea would just be to lock all editing, if just deleting the wiki outright isn't an option

i mean you're not wrong there but i dont expect GSG themselves to intervene. at most all i'd like them to do is request the wiki's admins to get on the job. i refuse to believe that nothing can be done about this

I wonder if the guy (kid?) editing the fandom wiki is the same one who's been having problems with the Dreadnought Leechmother.

Maybe every copy of DRG is personalized, and he just happens to have a heavily personalized game that includes a bunch of new enemies, T6 upgrades, and modified weapon effects. he thinks it's all completely normal and only every plays Solo, so he has no idea how different his game is from everyone else...
