Makes OCs like this so much more appealing and reliable in comparison now, while Lead Storm OC is pretty much just shelved until boss fights.
Hurricane for life.
Honestly, I think Lead storm is still one of, if not the best OC for the minigun. Why stun things when you can mow em down with an extremely bland OC?
That plus anything that gets a close flank on you like a slasher, you'll have that defensive stun. You really don't want to be slashed while using LS OC.
I tend to stick to one primary at a time. But it's always good to check under the hood every once in a while to see if everything is set just right.
GSG gave you a total of 6 loadout slots so you can quickly swap between them, plus you can quickly swap the weapons of your loadout. I often swap loadouts after every mission.
having a ton of ammo on a minigun is crazy fun because you just get to unload bullets indiscriminately without worrying much about counting ammo
I wish they gave loadout slots for individual weapons. Not the whole loadout itself.
Minigun DPS math 2complex4me, I don't know exactly how much damage is needed to decapitate an grunt in 1 nanosecond
no LS^2 no go
But that’s just in the scope of finding what works “best”. I’ve had a good time with most of the minigun OCs and most of its performance issues only really show in haz5. Exhaust Vectoring and Burning Hell can be very satisfying in Swarmageddon
I've got three different Minigun loadouts I tend to swap between, but Bullet Hell is pretty great. I used to go Blowthrough Rounds for the potential to hit 3 targets per bullet, until I saw how handy the Improved Stun mod was, and since then Bullet Hell has become my control/suppression loadout. Amazing against Haz5/EDD Mactera, since it stops several of them from firing simultaneously without relying solely on a shield.
Bullet Hell also has one very unique quirk: with bullet bouncing, it's much easier to see where the next enemy is. I'll often spray, only to see bullets darting to my side where there's a slasher next to me, or behind a ridge which lets me know new enemies are coming from there. I'll sometimes even fire it at the ceiling in a new room, and it'll reveal the health bar of leeches and other enemies that lurk in the dark.
Overall, the Minigun is one of few weapons that just doesn't have any bad OC's. All the cleans have good upsides, the balanced work well based on personal preference, and the unstables are high-impact for the downsides they come with. If you're just getting into OC's and get a Hurricane OC, there's about a 4/7 chance that the OC you get is either bad or completely changes your playstyle compared to stock, which you may not want, but the Minigun will always be reliable no matter what you pick up.
