The Voltaic Stun Sweeper Surprised me
I was underwhelmed at first but it's a great tool for traversal and revives even on higher hazards.

Also, very satisfying :goldvein:

Plus you get 8 of them!
It surprised me as well. While I still believe it is the weakest of scouts grenades, it has a lot of potential.

I believe that it needs to do more damage (add blades to the thing that might be cool) and have a much longer electrocution effect. At least have the DoT as long as the stun. C’mon GSG!

That being said it’s gonna be hard for me to stop using IFGs, pheromones, and even cryo until it gets a bit of a buff.

If I had to rank all the new grenades they would be

1. Shredders
2. Leadbursters
3. V.S.S (the boomerang)
4. The ripper. (The spring loaded ripper is way to terrain reliant. I wish it would act like a yo yo and move back and forth in one spot or something.)

Its pretty amazing, i revived teammates multiple times today in the middle of a wave pushing on us. (haz4 dont try and do that on haz5) Just to have 1/3 of the enemies dead at the end of the rez.
Its great for CC without being limited to an area, and thats where it realy shines.
All other options are so tied to a certain radius, while the boomerang just works regardless.

It might not be as strong as a well placed IFG, but it certainly is better if enemies are spread out.

For me its;
1 V.S.S. - because it gives new options to play.
2. Leadburster - because its a nice balance between risk and reward
3. Springloaded Ripper - Also dislike how terrain dependend it is, but its still unique and satisfying when it does loop around.
4. Shredders - to be fair i have not used them yet, i dont like shredders as an enemy and dont like how they look as a friendly weapon. Should probably try them some day XD

Was just doing a Haz 5 Elim, had a very large spawn happen during one of the Dread fights, dozens of grunts/slashers/guards, couldnt have been a worse time for it, 1 guy down and the other 2 being pressured by the Dread in a tight space; threw 4 of my Boomerangs and had the whole wave locked down.

Gave me plenty of time to get the downed guy up and let the team regroup, and then mop up the surviving bugs; and I still had 4 Boomerangs left!

Sure, Boomerangs are a bit weak when compared on a 1 on 1 basis; but they are way more spammable.

Wiki says "Shockingly, it even returns to its owner!"
are these consumed if hits, and return if miss?

If you don't hit anything, you don't lose it

my favorite part about the ripper is when you throw it on the ground and it decides for whatever reason to just go backwards immediately and hit the driller throwing it

my favorite part about the ripper is that it goes to the other side of the damn cave instead of killing the bugs you actually want.. It is a funny sight I suppose!

The scuffedness of the ripper is what makes it truly the best grenade option

yeah that's why they're on driller, the guy who controls the terrain. basic prep will keep in it one spot like you're asking for, unless I'm misunderstanding?

but why would I want to do that when I have the simpler and more effective other grenades?
