If it had been more like Alien Swarm then I'd certainly be looking for a co-op experience.
Then again, Don't Starve eventually got Don't Starve Together, so who knows.
There is zero reason not to have multiplayer on the basis of genre as has been shown by all the games exactly like this that have multiplayer. Hell, there's one that's multiplayer only with cross play with Playstation.
very curious about dark swarm. weirdly, even tho they've announced it and suggest wishlisting on steam, it doesn't currently appear to have a store entry on steam to wishlist.
maybe they'll add it down the line or someone will make a mod for it
