So about the new DRG Survivor game

Opinions on it being single player? It seems like a few people are upset over it not saying it's multi player. Not sure if it actually is going to be single player only, but I think it will be single player focused at least.

I think that's kind of a good thing though, it lets people who don't want a multiplayer focused game still join into the community and have their own space dwarf game. I'd imagine for a shy new player joining into the community it would start with DRG Survivors, then progress to solo DRG, then they would finally step into the public lobbies.

Multiplayer would be more fun ofc, and increase game's life span.

But they have to spend more money on that, maybe they calculate it's not worth it.

Seems to look more like Vampire Survivors than Alien Swarm, so solo-only seems a much better fit.

If it had been more like Alien Swarm then I'd certainly be looking for a co-op experience.

Then again, Don't Starve eventually got Don't Starve Together, so who knows.

happy about it being singleplayer, those "survival" games wouldn't work with multiplayer, i bet they will have enough problems with game anyway, after you get enough upgrades they are incredibly taxing on your rig while also acting like a visual obstacle

Well VS is more like an idler than an arena ARPG that bullet-hells usually follow, so I'm not sure even that comparison is valid considering it looks like you the player are actually required to play an active roll in the game.

There is zero reason not to have multiplayer on the basis of genre as has been shown by all the games exactly like this that have multiplayer. Hell, there's one that's multiplayer only with cross play with Playstation.

very curious about dark swarm. weirdly, even tho they've announced it and suggest wishlisting on steam, it doesn't currently appear to have a store entry on steam to wishlist.

I'll admit to losing a bit of interest when I realized it was more of a vamp survivors-style game rather than a twinstick shooter, though I suppose I'll have Dark Swarm to look forward to. Then again, perhaps I'll change my mind in the future.
