Basicly h1 is "never played a shooter and i'm scared" or simply don't want to fight at all.
h2 is tutorial.
h3 is normal.
h4 is somewhat difficult.
h5 is difficult.
h modded is very difficult.

Playerwise, there are some players/hosts best avoided, mainly with bossy titles or absurd level requirements. Most lobbies are rather silent and unless you ♥♥♥♥ up things, few will bother you.

The game lenght allows for some easy and quick runs, beeing on avg 25min.

Yep, you can run some low hazard (difficulty) missions solo to learn the ropes, then jump in with the rest of the community once you've got the basics down. There's also the Miner's Manual in the game to give you some info if you need it.

I picked it up in the winter sale 3 weeks ago, and I'm doing just great.

Having a blast. Just watch some tips video on youtube and you'll be good, and also read the miner's manual to learn all the objectives.

I just play basic missions solo so far - teams want people to know the game more.

You can have fun as a new player. I hesitate to call it beginner friendly, but it's not bad.

I takes some games to find out how it works if you didn't get that from those videos or the in-game manual. I think especially with the navigation map tool.

This game has one of the most welcoming communities I have ever seen.

No need to worry :)

It's a co op game, start in Haz 2 and figure out how to play with greenbeards there, move up when comfortable. Should be very quick to learn cause It's just a casual FPS game.

Haz1 can also be "I hate to play this game solo but I want to 100% it, so I'll do 100 haz1 aquarc missions as scout solo...

When you jump into multiplayer main Gunner.

All you got to do is shoot bugs and watch your team (AKA: Learn). Don't fall for the Scout trap.

I fell for the engineer trap, (no regrets).

Gotta agree you shouldn't take scout first. Gunner and driller are pretty beginner friendly, you could also take engineer as I did, he isn't THAT hard to learn.

I wouldn't consider engi too hard.
Most common mistakes i see is using your HE pgl rounds as if they were AP and forgetting to put platforms.

The only way it could be even more beginner friendly would be by adding a more expansive tutorial and a peaceful mode.

Haz1 is even doable by my 6 year old year ago.

And then these dwarves unlock nukes and you get the advanced mistake... killing yourself by pressing 2 instead of 3.
how quick they grow

So we agree, engie is also a good choice to start off with, it's litterally only scout you should wait a bit with.

Engie is pretty weak before he gets his mods unlocked. At least when compared to driller or gunner weapons without mods unlocked.
