Is the BRT7 worth using?
Im really looking for a reason to use the BRT7 over the Bulldog or even the Coilgun, without having to ONLY use Lead Spray OC.
On paper it seems like BRT7 does the EXACT same job as Bulldog, drilling into weakpoints, but with a weaker Weakpoint bonus.

I'd like to hear the reason for and against using BRT7. :winter2019happybulb:

You can kill oppressors without reloading, that's what I use it for.

Depends what you want from the gun, its great single target choice if total damage/ammo is important to you and its great cc utility because stuns are guaranteed on last hit. Bulldog is burstier choice and can be AOE/neurotoxin. Coil is more of fear utility and AOE weapon.

Good magazine size, very good ammo economy and a few very good OCs (lead spray, experimental rounds, compact mags), couples well with AC and Hurricane as the single target sidearm, the stun mod on it softens the macteras and especially trijaws and brundles while still being able to kill spawns in one 3-bullet stream.

BRT worth using even without Lead Spray.

The only iffy OCs for BRT are Electro Minelets and Micro Flechettes. All of the other OCs are just bonuses on top of a really decent weapon.

Bulldog needs OCs to compete with BRT in DPS and overall damage. Even after OCs, the comparison is close. Especially when Bulldog is specially built for sniping, comboing or AoE (and dropping a shot with Bulldog sucks, whereas BRT firing in bursts means you can still recoup damage if you aim poorly).

Pros:
- Good gun.
- Can build for guaranteed stun.
- High DPS.
- Easy handling.
- Lower damage lost if you potato aim. (Bulldog and Coilgun have larger penalties for missing).

Cons:
- You hate using good gun.
- No AoE.
- No elemental comboing (Bulldog and Coil Gun have ability to combo with fire).
- One less possible status effect compared to Bulldog/Coil Gun unless you commit to a sub-par OC.

tldr:

Just use whatever you want for gunner's secondary. They are all good.

It's nice - I've used it for 100's of hours / missions as my trusty secondary.

It has laser precision if you configure it right (i can send my config when i get home) - Use the Stun tier ..

its nice for macterras and picking down Gunk Seeds and similar small targets.

The nice thing about it is that you can non stop fire while Born Ready reloads your AutoCanon or Hurricane ... and then continue on and on.

Burst pistol and revolver do pretty similar damage in the end if you're not using overclocks. Revolver has better weakspot but it has worse overall damage (unless you take both damage upgrades, but that leaves you really light on ammo), so they basically cancel out. So burst pistol has much better magsize and more ammo so it's better for spamming, but revolver doesn't suck at long range. So the decision is simply do I want to give up long range in return for being better up close.

13232 with Micro Flechettes gives a ton of ammo and lets you tear anything smaller than a dreadnought apart in seconds when hitting the weakpoint. I find the Bulldog is better for its extra effects (things like neurotoxin or volatile bullets), but if I ever just want a weapon to take out big threats, I take the BRT7. Pairs very well with any primary built for AoE.

Its better overall.
call me crazy, but the BRT7 might be the "best overall" sidearm for the gunner.

I like to pair composite casting with big bertha. A tried and true combo that works surprisingly well together.

On the topic of lead spray, I don't think anyone would disagree with me if I said it was OP.

I think most weapons have a "worth using" build if you want to. It may not be the meta or best based on min/max, but truth be told playing the same meta builds is a bit boring.
BRT with extended ammo OC turns into a sniper pistol, really good at killing flies and stun-locking bigger targets. Slower rate of fire with said OC gives it pinpoint precision that makes it a lower DPS but overall bigger damage-to-ammo ratio weapon. Just a solid single-target weapon without any gimmicks.

How good are elector minelets? I hear it's bad, but every once in a while I hear that it is actually really good.

Its one of the few OCs i'd stay away from.
Yes, it kills any single target (probs up to oppressors) in seconds.
Well thats the entire point, it needs multiple seconds, even serval for some. When it wouldn't with some others.
