If you are hanging out in a level for a long time to lick the walls clean, no it prolly isn't.
Gambling prolly won't ever happen, because ratings.
theres some meta people that say no, and some meta people that say yes
but if you like money and need it - and boy will you need it- its worth it
Simulated gambling without real money options wouldn't affect the ratings for the US. EU may be a bit different though.
Yeah, and Gunner was smoking a virtual cigar that wasn't actually giving anyone cancer; but it still didn't make the cut.
Only times I’ll go after gold is if it’s gold rush, have Pot’s O’ Gold, and/or a Crassius spawns. Otherwise I’m at a point where I’m not hurting for gold, so it’s a better use of my time to only go for mission objectives, events, and any minerals I find (which I’m not hurting on either, outside of Enor, Bismore, and Magnite).
The ‘most efficient’ method varies depending on how many dwarves are on your team, the mission type, and even the randomly generated terrain.
To put it simply, if you spend less than 1 minute and 30 seconds walking to, mining, and depositing per 200 gold, it’s worth more credits than you would’ve earned by speedrunning, getting to another mission faster, and mining the crafting resources there.
Is this achievable? Yes, but it will get you yelled at in public lobbies, as it involves “leaving the crust behind”. You really only need to spend about 8 seconds per (average sized) gold deposit. Ideally you should be getting 5 or more gold units per “chunk” you mine (2 hits), anything less is “inefficient” compared to speedrunning.
Don’t forget to utilize your power attack to speed this up further.
In 4 player lobbies, if time is spent optimally, all gold should be mined. Use your excess manpower to your advantage to become richer.
If you truly care about being as efficient as possible in solo, 2-player and 3-player, it takes an insane amount of testing and experience to know when gold is worth it, and when it isn’t.
Because this topic has been discussed to death so many times over. Do a simple forum seach and read one of the 100+ post threads, I've even lost count on how many I've seen.
A. How easy is the Gold to get?
B. Is there anything more important I could be doing?
C. What level are my teammates, do they likely need Gold?
Teammate level is very important indeed.
Eventually, once everyone is high enough level, it’s just personal preference since at that point xp, credits and minerals are all just numbers counting upwards, and you can enjoy the game however you want (You better mine gold like a real dwarf!!!)
Exactly, if we're all level 500+ I'm just gonna skip all Gold; none of us need it.
If everyone is level 10 though, I'm going to go out of my way to get even hard to reach Gold, since they are new players; and likely need every bit they can get.
