Needs more Twitch support
Greenbeard here.
The streaming of this game is in a pretty sad state. How about some twitch drops to encourage streaming and viewership?

Also big streamers like Hololive and Nijisanji have picked up the game but havent played it as much. In the end streamers also need to want to play the game, other than just the viewers or playerbase wanting others to play it.
It's honestly what turned away from all vtubers/streamers. Most of them just chase trends. A new rage bait comes out, one plays it, other follow, you have 50+ takes on it. It gets old fast. There are some more persistent games like Minecraft but not that many.

There isn't any big niche DRG streamer as far as I can tell. And honestly? I'd rather play than watch someone play this (exceptions for builds and tricks and guides, Mark get to it). Haz 5 match isn't a place/time I want to listen to someone else either.

I'd rather not have content that's segregated based on arbitrary engagement with services many in the community don't want to join up to just to have alt-tabbed for an hour just to get a recoloured skin that should be available through playing the game itself. If it's a way to get an item already available for free, fine. Thinking about it, giving Blank Matrix Cores as Twitch Drops could work as they require playing the game to be useful. First by reaching level 25 to get access to the Key needed for the infuser and second by requiring players play the game's events.

Also: Shouldn't you be watching streams of the game because the game/streamer is entertaining, not because a corpo shill bribed you with a cosmetic? If you're only watching a stream to get a Twitch Drop, isn't that an implicit admission watching such streams is boring?
Personally, I'd rather play a game myself than watch some clown have fun that I could be having myself.

I think the main point is to direct people towards that platform or channel. Some of them might stick after that. In an age where there are tens/hundreds of thousands of games, movies, shows, personalities, books etc. getting eyes on you is crucial.

When I think about my favorite artists, songs, movies, games... many of them I just randomly found. DRG is not the kind of game I usually play. As for shooters I played more DRG than all of the rest combined. I tried it after then favorite streamer of mine wouldn't shut up about it for months (political content mainly, gaming streams were introduced later). I wouldn't even give it a shot otherwise.

Maybe its a good thing that this game isnt hyped on twitch.

Every single twitch hype game I owned got worse and worse by twitch oriented patches, just designed to work with streamers, to help them create content.
You dont want this in DRG.

beside a good game don't need streaming support to help itself... not to mention that twitch is nothing more than a hive of... ahem i suppose i shall remain polite.

DRG don't need leaf lover's streaming.

Maybe I don't know what Twitch "has become" but what's wrong with wanting to watch people play games? Many streamers are entertaining. Vinny and Joel from Vinesauce, Jerma, even Nyanners is unexpectedly really funny for being a cat-girl vtuber.

That said, that small list is all I watch. I'm sure the vast majority of streamers are mediocre at best, but that's like, kind of the point. It's a free-for-all just like Youtube where the best streamers get front-paged. There's probably also money involved too, but it's mostly a popularity contest.

I think it would be good if DRG could be made easier for streamers. It would boost the game's popularity. Of course there'd be your usual influx of CoD kids and idiots, but that's no different to every time there's an update or free weekend.

Anyone who genuinely doesn't want DRG to grow or become more popular because they're afraid of "icky children and streamers touching my sacred game" has some serious growing up they need to do. Gatekeeping is sad and naive. You can always gatekeep your own lobbies, if you're that upset about it.

I will admit it is funny, watching some vtuber do a meme reaction video and see a deep rock meme pop up and then ask what game that is just to see the chat spam ROCK AND STONE.

We have the best community of any multiplayer game. The game is not targeted to twitch. Gee, I wonder why we have such a nice community?

Gatekeeping those that bring harm is a good thing and will always remain a good thing. I have grown old enough to know what happens when you don't actually gatekeep certain things and we all know twitch for being the worst community in the internet.
