Any fun advice for Collette Wave Cooker?

For Haz 5, I tried the temperature shock build, where you set them on fire and then microwave them so that it temperature shocks them. It was okay. Didnt like the dmg too much. With wide lens, its nice for swarmers, rock pox bugs but thats kinda niche. The damage Im used to is using the handgun on full auto on burning targets.. Id rather set things on fire than freeze them or sludge them, so I dont use cryo or sludge at all really. Any combos that are fun with the Collette? I like the voice lines when it overheats. Toasty, sizzling, DING!

other than that idk what to say, sounds like you just dont like the weapon. which is fair obv but if you dont get much out of T5C spam idk what else to suggest

My go to is facemelter flamethrower + blistering necrosis wave cooker. Personally I don't use the cryo cannon with the wave cooker because temperature shock unfreezes enemies

this is important for cryo, but especially for fire: because temp shock also ends the burn/freeze, you should wait to temp shock enemies until you're certain the ~200 disintegrate damage will finish them off. It's harder to gauge with burn, and most enemies that can be burnt that you want to stay burnt have tons of health, so I find it isn't as clean of a combo as on cryo. You would have to swap primaries to see its full potential.

Wide lens is convenient for dealing with naedocytes and swarmers, but try taking ammo + focus lens instead since faster ROF = better temperature projection and faster temp shocks. You can always turn the focus lens off. The default damage and width is enough for dealing with most fodder and ranged enemies, particularly webs/spitters.

blisters / gamma are both pretty nice to play around

it can poison enemies that are being corroded. So you can get a nice anti tank setup with corrosive/poison/slowdown. Highly effective against heavy enemies. And then the temp shock with cryo and/or fire

Personally I use Sticky Flames flamethrower with a focus on setting enemies on fire as quickly as possible. Place the fire in a row in front of a swarm of enemies, then use the cooker to almost instantly kill all the approaching enemies (mega battery oc helps a lot). It's also pretty good for slaying large foes; just place about 5 fuels worth of fire under them and circle around them while proccing temp shock with the cooker until it does or the fire runs out.

I actually didnt know the Microwave gun had any synergy with the sludge pump. Thought it could only temperature shock.

Is there any synergy to that? does the firethrower dmg the spawned weak points?

yea it does, all of driller's primaries pair with it really well
the blisters can take AoE damage which is then transferred to the original target and increased by %50, technically making it the only source of weakspot bonus that AoE damage can benefit from
as a result it pairs beautifully with CWC's own boiler ray, and i believe the damage can be increased even further by detonating blisters on frozen enemies

I love Gamma Contamination personally.

Take Contagion Transmitter and pair it with the Sludge Pump for the ultimate DOT build.

I run Blistering Necrosis with Sludge Blast on his goo gun. But 1-3 blisters on an Oppressor's face, shoot with sludge blast, Oppressor dies or gets very close to dying. It's incredibly powerful.

I definitely like the gamma overclock. You can snipe bugs across huge caves, and they glow until they die, but that's just a fun-factor function. Applying damage over time from a distance is still pretty good though.

As for combos there are a few nice ones, but I wouldn't really take any other besides gamma or the festering boils one.

The problem is that Flamethrower or Cryo Cannon do a better job on Swarmers.

From my experience, Wave Cooker seems redundant with Driller's primaries (crowd control) and it's not even better than them for that job.
