although the steam awards don't seem that bad this time around. Still don't know why people keep voting for Dota 2 and CS:GO.
Not sure what happend this year around, but i have only managed to vote on a single game (DRG). So that was rather weird.
Op is talking about the game awards not the steam awards
steam awards after the nominations have been up for a few days kinda just disappear for awhile while the final nominees are compiled i guess, the winners haven't been up yet because we haven't had a chance to cast our votes on the 5 nominations in each category
you should be able to see the nominees and vote the winner soon
I've never really cared for the game awards personally, I don't even know what the nominations are I'll have to go look and get back to you in a moment
EDIT: looking over at the list I don't really play any of those games, I've heard lots of praise for stray and cult of the lamb so I'm not too surprised to see those there
Kinda baffled destiny 2 is there given the state it was in when I left
so overall I'm pretty indifferent to most of this years game awards like usual
I was never into MOBAs or PVP games much so I don't really have much experience in those games outside of maybe 1 or 2 games and the opinions of those around me
That's easy: they're a lot, lot, lot, lot more popular games than this one is, with AAA polish and whatnot.
Is AAA polish an insult or a gratification?
It's all just glitter and whoever pays the most money. If DRG actually won something, that would be a miracle. I had my expectations at 0, so luckily I'm not hurt by this.
I actually found it funny that the Oscars and the Emmys viewership took a nose dive once Covid hit because the last thing anyone wanted to watch on TV what is the equivalent of someone smelling their own farts.
Thats probably why they hired two black people to fight infront of the camera.
the only losse such a thing is if you miss it is literally free ad.
sure from a merchant perspective that's an opportunity wasted, but let' s be honest regarding DRG.
we have a good game, made by passionated devs, with an already big enough community that keep going strong and stable.
DRG don't need an award, it is an award by itself..
and seeing how big game studio ended up this past decades ( looking at you EA, Blizzard, Ubisoft, Bethesda and so on...)
yeah... i don't know for you ,but i rather have my space dwarves experience, free of greedy investors.
