Deep Rock Galactic
Seasonal events
I'm new to the game and I was wondering do seasonal events get removed after the season ends. By seasonal events I mean the meteor showers, rival signals ect.

Nope they will be sticking around. They’ll just become much more rare.

I don't think we can say anything for certain with the current meteor and lithophage events, as the story is that a comet is passing by and shedding these fragments that are causing all of the problems. Unless the devs decide to say "Welp, looks like the comet is in orbit for the foreseeable future", it could be a short-lived thing.

As for the robots, they're part of a rival company, so they can, and currently are, staying for as long as they like.

Likely the same way that robot events changed with Season 3. They now offer credits and exp like most other events. If the lithophage stuff sticks around after the season, then they, too, would probably follow the same format.

Or become much more common like it is the case with Industrial Sabotage :awkward:

I mean one it’s a mission not an event and I haven’t seen it pop up any more than any other mission so maybe you just got bad RNG.

I still haven't seen the hacking event from season 2 in my 50 hours of play time

I think I’ve seen it two or three times since season three start it up.
But like I said, they’re going to be rare, but they’re still around.

good cause random events really spice up the mission for me

The devs don't intend to remove seasonal event as far as I'm aware so the lithophage will be sticking around just like the rivals.

I just had it, hacking terminals while dodging plague worms and meteorites. Fun. Also, the Prospector really hates Corruption spikes. More than once I've cleaned up the pox only to find a data cell lying around in the mess. "Hoxxes is our turf!"

It's just that the wording of the event ("A rogue comet is passing through the system, shedding hundreds of infected meteoroids as the gravitational forces tear it apart") leads me to believe that it could indeed be a limited thing as the cause of the event itself is theoretically destroying itself and/or will move away from Hoxxes.

I actually do expect it to stay, but I'm not a betting man. If there's even a 1% something could disappear, I dare not hold my breath hoping it won't, and I don't want to potentially spread false hope for something that was never planned to be.

The briefing also says Rivals have been dealt with but they are still here.

"The Rivals have been pushed back for the moment" is a far cry from "The comet is now hundreds of thousand of miles away" or "has been obliterated into space dust". I don't doubt GSG could come up with some reason to keep it around. I'm just saying that there's always the option that they might not.

Regardless of how we all interpret the lore or patch notes, I'm only taking this stance to keep my expectations in check, and to avoid putting the devs in a corner they might never have intended.
