Since you need to kite enemies when solo, being able to move faster helps a lot.
Other perks might help as well, as well as learning your tools.
Use the gunner shield to block enemies while you need to resupply or when you realy have to put your minerals into molly.
Use the engineer platforms with bugrepellent to make pathing for enemies longer so you have more space to move and do things.
Use the driller aoe effects like sticky flames, cryo cannon frost on the ground, and the goop cannon sludge pools to slow enemies and give you space to do things.
Scout doesnt need much other than the grapple hook.
Practice.
Now now. Let us not resort to that right away. Surely there must be better solutions than playing Scout.
As you progress through the cave, periodically call Molly along rather than leaving her to race the ghost. Ghosty digs shortcuts. Same goes for extraction, check the map and get moving as soon as you pop the button & call molly along until you get the "retrieving mule" message.
Lastly, slowdown effects like sludge, Neutotoxin, and shock work well on the Ghost. Running taser boltshark with "The Specialist" and max duration will mean that 2 bolts will shock-lock the ghost for 20 seconds. That means you have enough ammo to completely freeze a Ghost in place for 3 minutes between resupplies.
A godsend doing elimination or machine events /w Ghosty.

Honestly, do what I do and never, ever do any Missions with the "Haunted" Mutator- Just avoid the Headache and Annoyance- I only Rarely see the "Haunted Ghost", aka the Blue Invulnerable Bulk, and only when it is forced on players in Deep Dives- It's just an Utter Waste of Time and a Cause of Frustration

I actually kinda enjoy haunted cave on mining expedition missions
I feel it works best there since you move down a linear cave, the horror kinda pressures the team to stay on the move and clear rooms quick while also managing swarms with that lingering threat following them, keeps everyone on their toes
but aside from that yeah no haunted cave is total crap and probably my 2nd or 3rd most hated mutator
2) Run to the other side of the cave, call Molly.
3) Deposit minerals.
4) Profit.
But I can suggest you simply avoid and skip it. If it's in a DD I'd skip it or join a team and just mentally zone out during the stage with it and let your team carry you.

It's not challenging, it's not engaging, it's just an arbitrary annoyance you have to suffer through. Not getting killed by the Unknown Horror does not feel rewarding or satisfying and I don't feel clever for being smart enough to understand how to walk away from a moving death threat.
It's aggravating. Just don't do it.
Unless you really enjoy running around back and forth for busy work. If you enjoy spending 4 minutes doing what it takes 30 seconds to do.
(I also think it would be better off being straight up deleted from the game entirely. Just replace it with a 'bulk infestation' modifier or something)
