Solo mission ghost
How the ♥♥♥♥ do you deposit if you play a solo mission with the ghost modifier?
I need to collect eggs and morkite, but i cant deposit that ♥♥♥♥ cause i get killed by the ghost ^^

i tried to lead the ghost away from molly so that i can run back to it and deposit, but molly just follows me and the ghost...

Molly is faster than the ghost.

Slowdown effects work on the ghost. Dash is a good perk to have if you have trouble with mobility, and you could even go as far as playing Scout if need be.

The ghost slower than you walking. Just move to A do your stuff run past the horror do work B and go back to A when it comes to close, rinse and repeat.

Get ''Second Wind'' on all your dwarfs except scout. Its a perk that boosts your running speed by up to 12%.
Since you need to kite enemies when solo, being able to move faster helps a lot.
Other perks might help as well, as well as learning your tools.

Use the gunner shield to block enemies while you need to resupply or when you realy have to put your minerals into molly.
Use the engineer platforms with bugrepellent to make pathing for enemies longer so you have more space to move and do things.
Use the driller aoe effects like sticky flames, cryo cannon frost on the ground, and the goop cannon sludge pools to slow enemies and give you space to do things.
Scout doesnt need much other than the grapple hook.

Eggs and Morkite, another Ghost hazard in Deep Dive, ugh, disgusting.. Definitely the worst negative hazard for sure.

To be honest as a solo player I avoid haunted caves like the plague. But it's not impossible to complete it.

Ghost requires a bit of forward planning. Less so than Low O2 granted more when solo, vs more coordination with Low O2 in groups. The ghost is slower than Molly, but they are no turtle & hare. When you're ready to deposit, go to the desired deposit point, call Molly, but then *don't* stand there like a doofus holding an egg waiting to see who wins; Drop the egg, and run somewhere else for the ghost to follow you. Then when Molly is about to arrive as the drop off point, ditch your date and go deposit. Consider depositing minerals more frequently rather than filling up, and tinker with animation cancelling with the pickaxe or laser pointer to speed up deposits.

As you progress through the cave, periodically call Molly along rather than leaving her to race the ghost. Ghosty digs shortcuts. Same goes for extraction, check the map and get moving as soon as you pop the button & call molly along until you get the "retrieving mule" message.

Lastly, slowdown effects like sludge, Neutotoxin, and shock work well on the Ghost. Running taser boltshark with "The Specialist" and max duration will mean that 2 bolts will shock-lock the ghost for 20 seconds. That means you have enough ammo to completely freeze a Ghost in place for 3 minutes between resupplies.

A godsend doing elimination or machine events /w Ghosty.

THE WORST MISTAKE ever made in DRG

Honestly, do what I do and never, ever do any Missions with the "Haunted" Mutator- Just avoid the Headache and Annoyance- I only Rarely see the "Haunted Ghost", aka the Blue Invulnerable Bulk, and only when it is forced on players in Deep Dives- It's just an Utter Waste of Time and a Cause of Frustration

I actually kinda enjoy haunted cave on mining expedition missions
I feel it works best there since you move down a linear cave, the horror kinda pressures the team to stay on the move and clear rooms quick while also managing swarms with that lingering threat following them, keeps everyone on their toes

but aside from that yeah no haunted cave is total crap and probably my 2nd or 3rd most hated mutator

1) Run to a side of the cave, lure the horror.

2) Run to the other side of the cave, call Molly.

3) Deposit minerals.

4) Profit.

If you're a masochist and wanna put yourself through the agony and torture of doing something that's not fun ore rewarding, we cannot stop you.

But I can suggest you simply avoid and skip it. If it's in a DD I'd skip it or join a team and just mentally zone out during the stage with it and let your team carry you.

Worst mutator in the game.

Feels like

"Every two minutes your older brother comes into the room and slaps the controller out of your hands!"

It's not challenging, it's not engaging, it's just an arbitrary annoyance you have to suffer through. Not getting killed by the Unknown Horror does not feel rewarding or satisfying and I don't feel clever for being smart enough to understand how to walk away from a moving death threat.

It's aggravating. Just don't do it.

Unless you really enjoy running around back and forth for busy work. If you enjoy spending 4 minutes doing what it takes 30 seconds to do.

Don't even bother with haunted caves in solo, it is practically self-torture and a waste of time lol :Scalpers_Skull: The idea is that you have to lure him to one side far enough away from anything important such as minerals and other things related to the mission, then abuse his slow walk speed to get as much done as possible before repeating the cycle. This takes a very long time and is still quite dangerous. It's very boring having to wait around and also not feasible for things like triangulation zones and drilldozers where you have to stay in one spot while on defense from angry aliens :lh_lich:

(I also think it would be better off being straight up deleted from the game entirely. Just replace it with a 'bulk infestation' modifier or something)
