Why does it suck so bad? Is it armed with rubber bullets or something?

The only way GK2 has enough ammo to get by is if you aim every shot very, very slowly and carefully. Which means you won't be killing very much at all. The accuracy and recoil feels perfect, but it's just not enough to make up for the poor ammo capacity and damage per shot.

It really does need like another +3 damage. It should be much better than NUKs outside of the IFG field. Worst part is that it's so bad that the boomstick suffers for it too. Would love a good reason to take the boomstick as an alternative to M1k because the boomstick is actually a decent weapon, but taking 2 low ammo weapons is not a very smart idea on high hazards.

I'd take a MKII sentry or even Bosco over an AR scout any day.

The best thing is the way the hollow points upgrade only gives it +20% damage instead of +50% like every other gun has (except the revolver which has +75%). Apparently one of the devs looked at it and decided that giving it +50% would just be too good. Wouldn't want it to be overpowered, would we?

my biggest problem with it is that it no longer feels like an assault rifle, unlike it's old version

Whats with the old version? It had more recoil?

Better firerate and damage, as well as projectiles and firing sound more suitable for a ballistic weapon.
The weapon mods update made it so you gotta choose what stats you want, with base accuracy/stability, damage, and firerate all being low, which resulted in firerate upgrades not being viable, because they're in the same rows as damage / weak spot damage upgrades.

And new VFX and SFX make it feel like some gun from mass effect, ain't J U I C Y at all.

I cant decide in which way to mod the assault rifle. It sucks at everything, it needs every mod but i can only choose one. Currently im using damage, damage, hich cap mags, weak spot damage, accuracy after kill.

I do find it funny that it has the highest armor breaking bonus in the game at 500%.

Definitely this.
There are times I want to use the boomstick but not with the M1. And damn sure not gonna use Deepcore over M1.

I agree , the scout's weapons are too bad . I understand that he shouldn't be as powerful as the other characters as he has high mobility but he does too little damage .

The M1000 needs like 5 more base damage and the Deepcore Gk 2 has too little damage , needs like 5 more damage or a larger weak point bonus.

If the scout is supposed to kill high priority targets whey does the Deepcore GK 2 have so little weak point bonus damage ? The games balancing is mostly good , the scout is my main issue and the driller's pistol also needs a slight buff .

I agree. When the weapon mods update hit the boomstick went from good to ♥♥♥♥♥♥ atrocious IMO. The deepcore also became lame.
I still miss the original boomstick that did crazy damage but had little ammo. Version 2 boomstick was decent, then weapon mods update came and now its utter garbage.

After the game's public release the AR just didn't quite feel the same.
Over the updates it degraded from a great feeling weapon that made me love the Scout to that one weapon I actively avoid.
At least the M1000 exists, but I really miss being able to use the boomstick above Haz 3.

I think the AR while yes lacking when compared to it's further self it does do it's job if modded right.

the LAST thing the M1000 needs is more damage. specced for damage, on haz3 you can 3-shot Praetorians in the abdomen, and you can ALMOST one shot a grunt (it has an imperceptible amount of HP left) with a BODY shot.
