for engineer lok-1 is very effective against robots if you know how to use it right, shard diffractor with heat upgrade is also good for annoying patrol bots and getting damage off on the caretaker
for gunner minigun I'd say is your best bet, paired with the bulldog or maybe the BRT, I'd recommend coilgun but apparently it's bugged to not damage the caretaker again so idk
I too think Gunner is probably best suited for solo against the end boss for this mission, because of the damage and ammo combo with the minigun, and the shield, with mobility that the ziplines add....but of the 3 classes considered, I've played Gunner the least.
In contrast, Engie's single target weapons are lower on ammo, but the turrets certainly help, along with platforming utility. This class is my second most played.
Scout is my most played class, because light is a great weapon in this game, and the M1000 is no slouch in either punch or ammo.
If I'm taking Gunner, then bumping up to level 3 difficulty and running a few 6 or 8 egg hunts, soloing as Gunner would be a good relative skill-builder.
The shotty suffers from lacking range (sniper turrets/patrolers). The others work more or less well.
It certainly is a poor choice, since this is a thread about weapons/players without overclocks.
Engineer with double turrets can realy help you to create a ''save'' location to fight from, shooting down swarmers and dealing with the tentacle arms.
Primary does not matter much, since they all are less than perfect for dealing with the mission. But i would prefer shotgun, so you can kill tentacles that spawn near you almost instantly. Depending on overclocks it can also deal accurate damage to the weakspots of the boss, but this depends on build.
As secondairy go for the PLG grenade launcher. As someone already said the Fat Boy OC is good, it will one shot weakspots while dealing radiant damage to the other weakspots. But any direct damage build will work just as wel, while wasting a lot less ammo.
Gunner is great since you can shield yourself. This can be a huge boon when you have to get ammo, or when you struggle. The minigun and rocketlauncher both work great, but the autocannon not good at all. Any secondairy will do, i will recommend the BRT burst pistol. So you can burst down tentacles and enemy spawns that have priority.
