Efficient ways to make credits/money?
I'm still kinda a Greenbeard and haven't finished leveling all four classes or buying upgrades, so my need for money is pretty big. I can get special resources without much problems, but money is always rather tight.

Any tips on how to get it in an efficient way?

Money will be a tight at the beginning if you play all classes, and try to unlock all their weapons and mods. There's nothing much more you can do except mining all the gold you see, getting the pots o gold buff, doing missions with gold rush, and selling excess resources when there's a good deal.

I can only add to Wakipai's tips that you should be careful with your gold. So buy hardly any cosmetics and rather invest in mods/overclocks.

When it comes to buying cosmetics, Phazyonite can help on that, if you happen to find some in the caves.

It's a recently-introduced mineral ( which appears in a thin and long shape, much like Umanite, but of a bright violet color and covered in lots of tiny spikes ) intended to help newer miners in buying cosmetics without having to sacrifice resources for equipment upgrades.

Machine events are mini challenges in missions you need to have a promoted player activate. They normally infuse matrix cores to get you overclocks, but they have a sizeable credit and xp reward as well, even if you don't beat them I think, so always try and at least activate them for that reward.
Keep a look out for Gold Rush missions, these will double the gold ore veins that you find in that mission. Also, keep checking the Abyss Bar for Todays Special, there is a Beer called "Pots o' Gold", which increases the amount of Gold you get from each mined piece.
Also, keep an eye out for Compressed Gold, which is a big Chunk of Gold buried in the Ground, much like Enor Pearls or Jadiz.

This is how the walls/ground looks like if you encounter Compressed Gold:

The same goes for Bittergems, which are also worth alot of money, and look like this:

If you happen to come across a Korlok Tyrant-Weed and manage to kill it you get 3 Tyrant Shards, which are also worth 350 Credits per piece.

Also, check the Mineral Trader every day to see if there is a good deal. You can sell some of your minerals for quite a bit of money.

Focusing on gold for credits is probably less efficient than focusing on resources and just outright selling them, even without the daily deal. Play the highest hazard you can comfortably do, with a full team, and warning(s), that'll boost your resources the most.

The absolutely most efficient way is late joining. You see time passed since the start of the mission, don't join missions that are less than 10 minutes in. This way you get full resources and don't spend that much time.

I mean you can still do that and get the Gold. Yes, in Haz 5 Gold is ignored completely as it wastes time, but if you are around 3 or 4 you can comfortably get it when it's along your path anyway.

Thanks for the surprisingly fast replies and your advice.

Seems there isn't a secret trick and i'll just keep playing and spend the money i get wisely.

Play haz 3/4 with mineral mania and as many warnings as possible or just warnings.

Those difficulties are easiest while still giving you a lot of hazard bonus, mineral mania will give you more minerals which are worth 2500%+ more than gold.

Ignore the cosmetics shop until you've got your first promotion on each class, so all base upgrades paid for. Beyond that, don't rush missions, instead take the time to collect whatever crafting materials you can get your hands on. Mineral Mania is your friend. Gold rush + Pots 'o Gold can be good for a change of pace, but certainly isn't "efficient", especially if you get a Crassus Bulk on the mission. Play multiplayer for the opportunity to get the benefit of cosmetic unlocks (crates & such) plus completing machine events before you have a key or matrix cores, as well as gaining valuable experience in learning how to play the game especially at higher difficulties with better rewards. (whether hazard or via modifiers)

Probably the no-cheese way to earn credits and gather materials fastest is doing 4-6 Egg Hunts solo or hosting at Haz 2 or 3 if you can handle that with no issues. H2 Eliminations can generally be done faster, but I prefer Egg Hunts since there is generally less running around (more compact) so it's faster for ensuring you have access to the crafting materials and secondaries which you might have to run through all of the tunnels on Elimination for. Crafting materials should not be ignored. You're going to need a lot of them for upgrades, promotions, and cosmetics, plus they are worth far more during a mission than gold once you have enough extra to warrant selling some. You don't want to be buying minerals from the trader.

I definitely *don't* recommend late-joining. While it is good for earning credits/minerals for little effort, you will miss out on valuable machine events, cosmetic unlocks, and could find yourself developing a bad reputation around hosts in your area, earning yourself a kick for being a freeloader. You should be playing DRG for the experience/fun of playing the game, not to collect credits/cosmetics. Unlocking upgrades faster won't magically make you a better player as much as the actual experience of *playing* the missions regardless of the state of your equipment.

Don't mislead, if it wasn't completed yet he won't miss any events and unlocks.

bringing up a list of all servers and running the golden bugs mission modifiers and pots o gold beer can earn you money pretty fast. Hitting a crassus detonator with pots o gold is awesome as well. Higher difficulty and more mods and more objectives completed will also give you moar credits.
