Steamdeck push to talk?

hi all! I cannot use thw push to talk in voice chat from my steamdeck. I tried to assign one of the back buttons to it, but they are not recognized by the game. Any suggetion? All the buttons are already assigned to something important for the gameplay...

Basically, you need to map the button twice on the deck.

Start by booting up the game, and going to a safe area (the title screen, or the spacerig), and click your physical “Steam” button on the left side of your deck.

Then, in the steam deck tab you just opened, navigate down to “Controls”, expand it, click the Controls button, and then “Edit control layout”. Here, set your back button to an unused *keyboard* input, like L. Note: This is only changing your controls for DRG, it won’t affect any other games.

Now, return to the game and go to DRG’s control layout, and set your Press to Talk bind to L (or whatever you assigned it to in the deck controls). Should work from that point onwards!

I did the instructions regarding binding a back button to the keyboard button for push to talk. The problem I am running into now though, is that deep rock galactic switches between keyboard and controller settings every time you press an input. So if I hold to talk but use any other control on the deck it will cancel out the push to talk because the game is reverting back to controller settings. So I'm not sure if it is actually working because I haven't had anyone respond to my voice
