But the thing is, most players don't speedrun missions. Leaving people standing around while they could be mining. Lots of players just heard the "mining gold is inefficient!" thing and never questioned it.
The difference in credits/minute is also only apparent if you speedrun lots of missions, back-to-back. Because the majority of players likely just get on for 2-3 missions at a time, mining gold will actually net them more credits, because odds are, they're not speedrunners.
Blatantly false.
The ONLY time skipping gold and rushing the mission nets you faster credits is when the mission is tiny, there are no events, and you sell any and ALL crafting minerals in the map. If any of those prerequisites aren't met you get more by mining.
The skipping of gold=more gold meme needs to die.
I can understand skipping gold on things like Point Extraction, or if your pockets are full and Molly's not around, or not spending the time to get the edges for 1.1 gold or less. But I will never understand just wholly ignoring the gold and not at least taking those high profit whacks in the middle for 6+ gold ore for 2 seconds of time.
Gold per second evaluations I've seen which came out in favor of skipping gold compared skipping it to painstakingly grabbing Every Bit of gold. I am entirely convinced if you compared skipping it to just high profit swings in the middle it would be more advantageous to grab it than skip it, I don't understand why folks think it has to be all or nothing.
Did a deep dive protecting the drilldozer, and there was little to no breathing room to do anything other than main objective stuff, and Nitra so we didn't run out of ammo and die.
I'll cover teammates and plat/assist with it when theres nothing around but I'd rather play the objective vs the slow task of mining gold
