I do think it'd fair better than a cigar. There's just a strange hate with cigars. They get censored a lot in games for some strange reason, iirc it might have something to do with Asia.
Maybe i underestimate how much better it'd fair, but if actual scummy gambling systems can make it through in some games without being labeled as gambling, i doubt it'b that big of a problem for drg. There's some other games with casino style games that are fine.
But maybe i do put too much faith into the world.

Sounds like Poker Night at the Inventory by Telltale Games.
If it was chess I'd be down like mo-town.
That way it's a good singleplayer game.
You can play a hand within a minute.
You could have wagers with Lloyd for small things like a free beer.
Thing is however, whenever wagers get brought into games people will complain that it's introducing gambling to children.
Double cringe.
For example, A veteran with all Overclocks and Cosmetics walks into the bar. Has no use for any resources or credits.
A newer player needs resources for overclocks. Instead of playing the game, the veteran gives the newer player credits by throwing their hand at poker after betting a high amount.
Sure there could be an arbitrary limit set on the poker bet, however that could likely be undone with mods.
Sure it doesn't matter so much as this is a PvE game and people can probably add money to their accounts anyway. But this could definitely be used to boost players in a sense.
