Which class is more expected to double dip?
Ok so we know taking 2 ammo boxes is generally not a good idea but if you HAVE to; which class generally gets more leeway?

As a Gunner I feel like I generally run out faster than the other classes but idk.

I would say Scout as he deals the least total damage from a full ammo bar, when I'm shepherding Greenbeards he's the one I typically expect to come up short on ammo.

It depends on your competency as a player as well as the competency of your teammates. If they're constantly down, you're having to kill 4 players worth of bugs. Doesn't matter what class you are. I've had missions where I've eaten all the resupplies as a scout to keep my team alive. I've also had missions where I've barely needed a resupply as a gunner. As with all questions in life, it depends.

None.

They should fix their build.

Yeah, that too.

I remember a couple of times where I was on a 3-4 player team; the others were down and I managed to kill the horde myself eventually. Once everyone was up again I realize I was short on ammo once again so I had to take 2 boxes from the supply total... I guess in that situation it is more justified.

the player who isn't dead when everyone else is and needs to extra supply to save the team from a wipe

I say it depends more on individual players, and the current situation rather than what class they are.

The only times I say are fine are if:

1. One player spent a significant amount of time being afk and hasn't used much ammo since last resupply/mission start.

2. Another player give express permission to another player to take their supplies.

3. Team is in a dire situation and one player needs two supplies to save the mission.

There is no justification for double dipping unless they are the last one alive and it's to prevent a wipe.

If someone asks and the team is okay with it, fine. Double dippers usually don't ask though.

I rarely need to double-dip but when I do, I'm usually Gunner. Keep in mind my build isn't particularly ammo-hungry or anything, but whenever I need to double-dip it's usually cuz I'm shepherding Greenbeards who are all downed and I need to fight off like 200 bugs just to survive. Also I need more shields since I have to keep reviving them, lol.
Gunner should be the most sustainable unless something is off with your build. Or your team.

From my experience, it's newer Scouts who thinks they're playing Doom. Especially the ones running the GK2.

Worst that happened me was a Sabotage mission with two Scouts, both using the GK2, and they both liberally called down resupps whenever, and both double dipped on a single resupp, leaving nothing for me and the Gunner. Barely had enough Nitra to finish the mission.

Scout usually needs it. Engi should take priority if there happens to be one left over and everyone is more or less good.

As other have mentioned, if you're dead you aren't shooting or contributing so don't be confused when someone, typically Scout, needs your supply after saving the run.

You're only "stealing" a supply if it's not in a place where your team is going to hang around. Supplies near the drop pod are free for the taking- call another if you need. Typical go-home nitra is 200-300 anyways, fill your boots.

Bad Scout.
Cryo drillers after using their entire axe supply on 3 praetorians, 1 oppressor and running out of drill fuel in one swarm after they're done drilling frozen grunts to proc vampire.

Seriously, cryo drillers have got to be the most ammo hungry players I've seen in general. Of course there's always exceptions and there are more careful ones, but as a whole? They take the cake.

Second would be a tie between trigger-happy cryo nade Scouts and trigger happy Fat Boy Engineers.

Always engineer. Gemini turrents are always hungry. Then bring nukes and landmines and you have Engie the devourer of supply pods.
You can be very ammo efficient as engie with single sentry gun, warthog, plasma grenades and nuke (never enough bugs in one place to justify a nuke even on 4P Haz5).
Also if the team sucks donkey gonads, then Gunner will be doing lots more killing and burning through shields like mad. Provided gunnery man doesn't suck.
