Deep Rock Galactic
Missing that gritty dark texture look before last patch
Textures have changed, right?

can't get into that new texture style. Textures seem brighter, less gritty, less noisy, less "dark rocky", less metal-shaded, they seem "off", different.

Metal surfaces especially now look cleaner like gunners armor, drop pod interior(gives too much the feeling of just horrible uv-stretching, missing that noisy-reflective metal shading) and so on, no longer feels like that dark, dirty and gritty style it was before.
Many new crash side parts of the new mission type have the same problem, too much texture, too less metal-shading.

Additionally the new texture details overall look to clean and creating that obvious pattern
repetition, games usally trying to hide (for instance: magma zone)

Overall the art style moved from over-shaded dark, brushed metal, grittyness to more cartoony looking surroundings.

I really hope there is a possibility, the games finds back to the original art style. For myself, I can't stand the new style of graphic.

Other opinions?

What I do like is the more detailed character models and the vanity items.I like the rounded edges/more polygon-style.

greetings

I don't like the new textures either tbh plus the reticle feels off for me i'm not used to it and i feel when i hit a enemy i don't get that hit scan before in the update. I agree that when you mine a crystal it doesn't feel right for me.

Wish I could have a before and after image showing the differences. I didn't notice too much different, but I wasn't looking too hard. I don't know if I like or dislike the game's texture shading, but what I do know is I like the texture shading before.

To be honest, I prefer the new graphics. When I first started playing on the experimental build, it felt a little different (not bad), but pretty soon I became acclimated to it.

I also disagree with the notion that they make the game look cartoony; if anything, the game seemed more "cartoony" before, whereas now the graphics (and especially things like the shading, which at least for me seems to make the caves darker and more spooky) create (for me) a more vivid, lively experience.

Game was more 'cartoony before, but I liked the brighter, bolder look. now everything looks "Washed out"

The only thing I do Like is the black added to Mineables - ESPECIALLY the Morkite. I hated it before, now it's more 'Black Gold'

I generally thought everything was fine. I really dislike the new nitra and i'm not a huge fan of the morkite's new look (I consider it to be "gud nuff") One change i do like however is the new look of gold.
