When does one become a *Greybeard*
At what point is someone no longer considered a greenbeard (noob)
and at what point would one be considered a greybeard (veteran)

because i'm triple silver rank now (all dwarfs played equally (blue rank 200+)) with 500 hours total and will be in the golds after i beat season 2 (currently at tier 60) i have all the weapon overclocks and most of the overclocks in general at forge level 60, have over half a mil in credits with 3000+ of each mineral except bismor with all weapon skills unlocked too, so apart from season 2 theres nothing really left for me to grind except maybe beards but i already have the ones i want.

so where would i sit between these two?

You become a Greybeard when you move on to the true endgame, the forums.

Both are pretty subjective, but my opinion:

You stop being a greenbeard at around Rank 15, by then you’ve unlocked Haz 5, all the terminals, probably done a deep dive or two, and know all of the basics.

I’d say graybeard is around Rank 100, at that point you have access to everything the game has to offer, and roughly 200 hours of experience.

LMAO, no

Greybeard is when you have EDD gear and can actually manage, when you don't pounce on mineral hoarders without alerting the team to assist. Greybeard is when you know the sound of every enemy through the walls, the difference between a helmet blip and a Bet-C. When instead of keeping distance on dreadnoughts you make passes with a two-handed pick axe swing.

Idk bro sounds like a pretty subjective opinion

I’d say all of the stuff you described is mastered by level 100, though.
That's the neat part, you don't. Stay green and keep learning.
I can tell if you're a greenbeard or not after watching you in the caves for a few minutes.

Whoa, are you voyeuristic or smth
You will become a greybeard when you leave no dwarf behind, no matter the cost.

when you can haz5 solo

More or less yes, but that just makes you a good player and someone rank 1 could also do this pretty easily (ignoring the rank required to unlock it). Would I consider someone rank 1 a greybeard? No.

Greybeard to me means that you have experience with the game, and it depends on how fast you learn and your innate ability with FPS games as to when you achieve this imaginary title (20-50ish hours?).

People that never touch Haz 5 could be considered a greybeard, and will perform better than a greenbeard with more innate ability/higher skill ceiling.

You stop being a greenbeard when you have seen pretty much everything the game has to offer, you have a good consistent build, and know how to beat everything because you've done it at least once.
Due to some peoples skill level my dude they will always stay greenbeards.
Do not worry about the color of your beard. Be thankful to have a beard (or the ability to have one). Be glad you are not a D**n Dirty Leaf Loving Elf.

If someone has far more knowledge about every system in the game but just plays worse because of having worse reflexes, they're not a greenbeard. In that case, it's safer to say you are closer to being one than them, just you're just better at games.

Greybeard has nothing to do with how well you play, it has to do with how long you've been playing and how familiar with every piece of the game you are, and how well you can explain it all. A lot of greybeards just happen to be good because they've been around very long

When you stop blaming your own failures on bad game design.

And then you blame the RNG for creating terrible maps.

I can't agree, between ranks of 100 to 250 I see some of the most bizarre decision making by players. Usually due to over-confidence. I actually prefer playing with players outside of those ranks, lower ranked players are cautious and generally follow my lead and higher level players tend to do the right thing.

If the team knows how to use its traversal tools well, terrible maps can be mitigated in 9/10 cases.

i was being ironic, or sardonic, or sarcastic, or something idk but i wasnt being literally serious :P

they're longbeards, different to a greybeard
i've seen many rank500s and even rank1000+ with very long green beards (you usually see them running lobbies with the description "RANK 100+ ONLY 3 PROMOTIONS OR KICK" .......*is a haz3*)

i agree with the sentiment tho that a greybeard is someone who understands the game and how their mods/ocs/loadouts etc synergize with eachother and the biome/modifiers they're about to play etc

so while my original post was slightly sardonic, if you can't haz5 at least as a team comfortably then there's something seriously wrong with your build, or tactics, or choices, which shows a lack of understanding and perception, thus not a greybeard but a longbeard
