I pair it with either volatile bullets bulldog or the mole coilgun depending how I'm feeling, usually I prefer mole
also 1,2,1,2,2 with minelayer OC is pretty nice, great on salvage and escort where you have enemies moving in predictable lines you can take advantage of
Plasma Burster still sucks last i checked.
Salvo is cool, arguably one of the strongest, the clean OCs are good too.
That's about all i care about on the Hurricane really. Though with the new secondary, there's *some* reason to take the fire build again.
i'd say the hurricane has the best mobility given you can maintain full speed while rockets are in flight by firing in bursts (also salvo removes the movespeed while firing penalty)
minigun and autocannon either have no increased mobility options (or make mobility worse via lead storm OC) or can only slightly increase mobility (combat mobility OC) as opposed to almost outright negating speed reductions alltogether
honestly I think the hurricane is fine, it took some getting used to but it's my personal favorite gunner primary and it cuts through crowds of glyphids rather well without being too weak vs heavier targets (besides thats what the secondary weapon is for, compensating for your primary shortcomings), the extra control given through having guided missiles also means it's got the best range out of the other 2 options by miles
I mostly just think plasma burster missiles need tweaking, they take lots of extra effort to use for only MAYBE the same if not half the reward a more normal missile build gives
minelayer with fire damage is fun if you want a non-traditional weapon.
for a more vanilla setup, just taking either the bonus area or bonus rate of fire with stun is perfectly fine.
i dont really care for jetfuel. it feels like a discount big bertha. i like big bertha, so if i want to play that way, i will just use autocannon.
Frag missiles: Favorite OC, nice and simple AoE bonus for a weapon I like to use AoE on
Overtuned feed: Pretty ok, I kinda like the base fire rate though so i don't really use it unless I'm doing a max fire rate meme build
Manual guidance cutoff: Mostly pointless if you have any other clean OC IMO, you can already cutoff guidance by swapping weapons which is what I prefer to do if I have to let missiles fly dumb, also sometimes it benefits to stop firing but continue to guide missiles if your stacking them for faroff targets or using nitro but with guidance cutoff you can't do that anymore
atleast the missile speed is there thats nice
Plasma burster missiles: I hate these so much oh my god I hate them hate hate hate hate hate hate hate
exaggerated jokes aside I used to love them before the nerf and while i do agree they were broken and needed to be toned down but I feel they went overboard and now i feel like I'm shooting marshmallows at things
I've tried many a time to give these another fair shot but each run becomes mostly just frustration due to the missile and pierce cap on top of the ammo penalty on top of the missile lifetime of 20 seconds ON TOP of the half damage, nitroglycerin compound does help but to get the most out of it you have to stack lots of missiles for a long time which given the pierce cap kinda negates how much you can get out of it unless you're juggling missiles before hitting your targets but obviously that means lowering your guard for a long period of time at which point why not just use normal missiles or jetfuel..?
Minelayer: I like this one but because I use coilgun so much running it means either swapping to the brt pistol, or just dealing with trying to hit flying targets with unguided missiles, so i only run this on salvage sometimes or escort where you can easily line up mines and make the most of it
Salvo: really fun OC, I appreciate unstable overclocks leaning more towards alternate firing methods like overdrive on the shard without slapping a billion downsides that make the weapon not fun to use, I don't use it super often though due to it basically having a hidden fire rate penalty with normal shots and also because I'm too smoothbrained to not dump 6 missiles into every glyphid I see then run out of ammo because slamming grunts with a ton of missiles at once and watching the funny ragdoll play out while fun isn't really being responsible with my ammo lol
Jetfuel: Not personally a huge fan of jetfuel, mostly out of personal preference and not due to specific balance issues or anything
when I run gunner unless it's minigun I like AoE primaries because racking up tons of grunt kills at once with a big gun is very satisfying to me so I build for AoE, since jetfuel is kinda the opposite of that we don't exactly get along well
it's a good overclock though, really high damage but I prefer my AoE build more easily guided missiles, sometimes I do use it on elimination though
