If I ever actually use the bread cutter and build around explosive goodbye i prefer extra ammo and lightweight cases, it's pretty gimmicky but it's kinda fun otherwise I think it's pretty underwhelming
Been often using it against swarmers, too, since the residual plasma worked very well against them. Would some times even stand inside it, as it deleted the ones that lag behind the main group.
Will definitely give your build a try, though. Thanks for the input, Frisky : )
Most of the time that I've tried manually triggering an explosion as the line passed through a big target, like a Praetorian, its damage never seemed worth the effort of sacrificing a longer plasma span.
I will probably also just let the plasma line do its course and see how well the final, untriggered explosion can deal with any surviving foes, preferably smaller ones.
Thanks, lad :)
Definitely seems powerful with that setup!
I'll keep it in mind for sure, thank ya.
One of the good sides of this build is that if say a praet is a bit far and you're unable to hit it with the beam fully twice (aka projectile vanishes midway through the bug) you get some pretty good extra damage. No need to worry about getting absolute perfect timing the moment the beam goes beyond your target either since thanks to RtS it will come back and either explode inside or in front of the bug(s)
Dunno if it's "optimal" in any way, but definitely effective enough to be used without feeling like you're dragging your team down with you. Used it a bunch on escort missions some time ago and from what i remember i did just fine with it.
I appreciate the tip, miner!
It's still nice that there are several options for when you wanna mix things up a bit, though.
Realized myself that I'll likely get bored of picking Plasma Trail most of the time, despite its general usefulness.
Agreed. My favorite thing about the breach cutter is that it's a fire and forget weapon that you can easily use while moving. Doing a jump>spin>shoot keeps you away from swarms while doing great damage. Return to sender sometimes can cause tunnel vision when you're trying to get that perfect line up. It's still fun though.
