How do you use Colette Wave Cooker?
I am not understanding this weapon. If you try using it as a long range sniper you won't be able to make use of its temperature shock because most likely you wont be in range to apply fire or ice debuffs. When it comes to using temperature shock the bugs are usually already dead by the time you freeze or set them on fire making using Colette redundant. How are you supposed to properly use this gun?

Maybe glyphids or macteras are already dead. Guarantee a guard isnt, pretorian isnt, bulk isnt, oppressor isnt.

You set thing on fire/freeze it. If still alive temp shock until dead. Repeat.

Pairs best with freezing. Freeze one or two enemies, then keep propogating the freeze to the rest of the crowd while temperature shocking everything. I'm struggling to find a non tempshock use for it though.

It works fine as a sniper, you don't have to "make use of" temperature shock for it to actually work, it's effective against web and acidspitters, and even menace.

Temperature shock vs praetorian, oppressor, etc etc.

And just sweep it across any swarmers if you want to save primary ammo.

Works nicely to take down gunk seeds for that matter.

I find it best at big game executor with sticky flame. It's kinda broken how the enemies are reignited and tempshocked to death.

I primarily use it for high hp bugs like guards, praes, oppressors, etc.
Given the large hitbox it's also good for dealing with swarmers and especially shredders.

temp shock. Lay a line of Sticky flames on the ground. When bugs go through they catch fire. Switch to wave cooker. DON"T HOLD DOWN THE MOUSE BUTTON, instead tap M1 untill temp shock procs. wait for flames to reignite and tap M1 to trigger another temp shock.

Temp shock nets a 200 DMG bonus on top of the weapons damage.

This. Im doing sticky flame build and everything just died in less then 2 seconds when u take out the secondary feels really really op hope it wont get nerf or something.
you can also play with the robot killer fire range build and you can reach menace easly and the cooker will do the rest.

How does it fare as a dread/nemesis killer?

Decidedly not a heavy target buster.

Bleh. That was pretty much what driller needed - he already has crowd clear potential up the wazoo.

Its very good for dreads between slow it gives and armor it ignores. Pairs well with sludge pump double slowing dashing big one to a halt and letting to face shoot it even through impenetrable armor. With nodes in damage, more damage on Corroded/poisoned and ammo OC total damage is decent for drillers secondary.

It may not be good against Dreadnoughts and Nemesis, but pretty much any other big target dies in seconds.
Really, the first time I pulled it out was on a group on Praetorians and Oppressors, and everything just melted without me needing to pull out my axes or C4. It's that good.

Adding a bit more that I have not seen in posts above:
1. It evaporates exploders when used to kill them (meaning they wont explode)
2. It has an OC that spawns weakpoints on enemies when you hit them with it in the form of little orange blisters, which makes it VERY useful against dreadnoughts (at least moreso than your other options imo)
Diesel May 3, 2022 @ 6:42pm
It has 4 main uses.

1. Temp shock damage, probably the best use for it, pairs well with sticky flames less effective with cryo and useless with sludge pump unless you can set the goo on fire then it's just as good as sticky flames. Melts large slow targets but leaves you with poor ranged options.

2. Spread cryo/fire, works best with cryo; freeze a big target then spread it to surrounding targets with microwave gun. Doesn't really work with sludge pump.

3. Poison damage and spread, works best with sludge pump and neurotoxic grenade, use it to deal more damage to targets in sludge or who are poisoned. Useless with flamethrower and cryo cannon.

4. Swarm clearing, increase lens width and fire rate to make the best swarm/shocker clearer, good at dealing with ranged targets like spitters.

There's an OC that lets you create weakpoints and it also can stop exploders/detonators from exploding

How do people get temp shock to work? Maybe I'm not reading the description on the weapon right, but it seems to "progress" whatever status effect is on the target? So if a target is 20% on their way to igniting, it pushes the ignite. Or if they're beginning to freeze, it freezes them. You need both elements to trigger temp shock.

Half of this weapon's upgrades are vague "effects" that don't display any meaningful numbers or uses which is making me feel really stupid.
