Extraction commences, you all run back up the cave. Swarms, no, seas of bugs flood the cavern you just came from, a raging torrent of teeth and claws roars and quakes from behind you. The gunner shouts "Run on ahead! I'll cover you.". The cave lights up from muzzle flash. Lead sprays into the writhing mass of bugs, as the stench of sulfur and bug guts fills the cave. Bugs start coming from above. The drop pod is in sight, and 3 of you make it in time before bugs close off the path. But it's too late for the gunner. He looks ahead and sees his opportunity for escape is gone, and he musters what vocal strength he can to let out a shout that shakes the cavern, and even scares some of the bugs back: "Gimme an R! Gimme an S! Gimme a rock and stone!"
I did notice one that was like "For those about to rock, we salute you." or something like that and thought that was pretty good and made me lol. Got that damn song stuck in my head now, lol.
ROCK . . . AND . . . STONE!
The "wholesome" one makes me die inside every time.
It's supposed to be a deadly adventure where dwarves risk their lives to get things done. While being sarcastic / passive aggressive / absurd with a bit of seriousness is perfectly normal down in the deeps, because you simply don't give a crap anymore... "Rock and Stone" means brotherhood. You don't joke about it.
Now there are lines that are too joyful or cheerful, they kinda ruin the atmosphere.
