Upscaling - FidelityFX (FSR) not working?
So i got a GTX 1070, playing on 3840 x 1600 (ultrawide) and FSR upscaling doesnt seem to work...
Standing still in the Space Rig, switching between FX quality settings and FPS stays the same. Tried using fullscreen, borderless windowed, DX11 or DX12, no difference.
Am i missing something? Do i have to install or enable something outside the game for it to work?

While I doubt this is the case with a 1070 at such a high resolution it's possible that your GPU is not maxed out and thus lowering GPU demand is not producing more frames.

A better thing to look for is the quality degradation, switch it to performance mode and you'll know it's working if the image is very visibly blurrier. Or monitor your GPU usage and see if it goes down when enabling FSR.

The space rig is a poor place to test settings, it stresses hardware completely differently from the rest of the game.

FSR only works if your processor is more powerful than your graphics card, because FSR uses processor threads.

1070 is doing fine running such game on a slightly lower res than 4k, with max fov, ultra textures and view distance, rest are set to low.

Thats exactly what im saying, i switched to performance mode and literally nothing happens, the FPS stays exactly the same as before, and so does the image quality. Even right now its set to performance mode, hoping it would activate when u join a mission or something, but the quality is as sharp as before.

Do you have FPS limiting or vertical sync enabled?

Try to check FSR in other games. Does it work at all in other games on your computer?

I also have a Gtx1070 and it's working fine for me.

I think your issue is that your resolution is essentially 4k, so there isn't much higher to go from there; depending on your display's native resolution.

I play on 1080p with everything on Ultra, and I can definitely notice the difference between the different modes.

Well it's definitely not working then. You're not still on Windows 7 or 8 by chance, are you?

vsync off, fps limit to 119 but irrelevant because i had a lower FPS when switching between FSR options

this might be it, or atleast it somewhat makes sense. there are no common 21:9 aspect ratio resolutions which ive also recently seen in Apex Legends, im unable to lower the resolution while keeping Full Screen option, on 21:9 ratio, but i got more options if i go 16:9.

edit: apparently FSR doesnt follow standard resolutions, but is based on % of native resolution.

On my gtx 970 and i7 2600k fps in full hd at dock 80-40 averge... And lowering resolution to 720p giving me no additional performance (fps stays the same). Also even if I change scailing slider to 10% my fps stays same as FullHD.
Wierd.
So FSR cannot help me to boost performanse at all.
