Rival Tech Color Scheme is... kind of ugly.
I think people will actually agree with me on this. I promise this isn't bait either. I bought the rival tech DLC because the frameworks looked cool as hell (and they actually do). I also usually never run the same color palette on the same framework (ie. Roughneck paint with Roughneck frame), so this doesn't really affect me much.

That said, the Rival Tech paint is honestly really bad. Dark Future, Megacorp, Dawn of the Dread, Roughneck, and Supporter all look really nice on their own (although I wish the random green bits in Megacorp could be changed to either grey or red).

Rival Tech's color scheme is just incredibly clash-y and visually cluttered. The patterns on the black metal bits doesn't match the patterns on the brown parts (which, btw, makes the brown parts look like... wood? It doesn't look metallic or sci-fi at all). The orange-ish red glowing bits are fine - great, actually. But they match horribly with the rest of the colors. And then there's the texture-less blue-ish grey colors?

I guess my biggest complaint is that they don't actually look at all like what the name implies... the colors and patterns are significantly different than the ACTUAL Rival Tech... like the robots and stuff. Which btw, look really cool. Why not just port over the same textures and colors?

Do they maybe think we would confuse our fellow Dwarves for the robots we're fighting if the colors were too similar? That doesn't seem like an excuse, given the Dawn of the Dread armors make other Dwarves easily mistakable for bugs half the time. I don't think they care about us blending in with the enemies.

Solution? Make the colors and textures of the paint (for both guns and armor) match the actual designs of our rivals' machines. Maybe remove a couple of colors as well, like the light blue-ish greys, which look incredibly out of place. The robots are made of dark colors. The skin doesn't have to be as dark and un-saturated as, say, Megacorp, but it SHOULD look a lot darker than it does now.

I had the same thought. Guns looks great but the actual armor skin is visually unappealing.

I only enjoy one part of the skin, the grey marble looking part. Not a fan of the tan though.

I absolutely love the color scheme : we desperatly needed more brown elements

Not great, not terrible. Though Rival Tech framework looks absolutely fantastic with the Supporter skin, rather than its own, imo.

Its a matter of taste I guess? While I am not fond of the look myself I hardly care because I mix and match stuff around anyway.

Some Armor look kinda dope with it tbh.

All I ever wished for was megacorp having grey-er darker scheme to match gunner's grey and black armor. Its just weird to have black and grey in armor palette and so awfully bright white on weapons.

Thankfully, dark future paintjob looks gorgeous on those new frameworks. Finally, good neon.

On the topic though. To be honest, I don't like almost any weapon skins in this game. There are some really appealing ones, but who cares if it doesn't match my armor? T_T

Even dark future has the weapons be WAY darker than armor when it comes to skins.
And I still want to see class-specific paintjobs for those specific camo armors (gimme my dirt defendooor autocannon, I dare you)

I Love the aged copper colour with the rival tech framework though, the green neon is amazing.

Right, I also dislike the paintjob it comes with.

But I don't mind. My first choice is always Dark Future anyway. I doubt if they'll ever make another paintjob that fits my preferences better.

It's way too subtle and boring for something you're paying money for. At least contrast the two browns a bit more on it.

Yeah...I also thought it looked like wood, which is a strange choice? (Unless the implication is that Elves are in charge of the robots?)

It's a matter of taste.

They're not too terrible, but I certainly won't use them on anything but the weapon frameworks themselves (and even then I'd rather use a different paintjob)

Armor paintjob is really bad IMO tho, don't think I've ever seen anyone wearing it and I don't blame them

The pattern on the weapons is the same as the pattern on the power stations, and the general attachments are reminiscent of burst turrets and the like, but while the meshes look good I don't think I'm actually using the color palette on any weapons...

Right, but if enough people don't like the taste of it, then it wouldn't sell as good. And it could probably be reworked to appeal to more tastes while not abandoning the people who already like it, I think.

But does it have to be reworked?
I mean, I genuinely bought the dlc primarily to "give us your money" and only then for frameworks. But here in the problem...

I only noticed frameworks were good when trying out in the game. And, I won't lie, that's because skin colors are that horrible to make something that gorgeous look bad in the trailer.

But at the same time, what about people who genuinely liked the skins they bought? And bought the dlc not for frameworks likeI did(turned out) but to slam cool lead-gold looking color scheme on their armor?

They changed Tech Trooper to make it so skin is no longer visible and Im sure everyone liked that (dwarves are ugly, I don't wanna see and part of their face, ewww, only helmets and beards.) so maybe changing the skins isn't all that impossible, but I think theres a difference between subtle change that made a thing objectively better and reworking an entire set of armor and weapon paintjobs.
