if not using mods no point for second save
just stick with your main and backup your save.

I've never had more than one save myself, but if I remember correctly you can just have multiple saves at the same time, acting as profiles, that you can change back and forth from the last tab of the game's options menu.
If things get too complicated and you're afraid to lose progress on anything, you can always just copy the "SaveGames" folder somewhere else on your machine and have the game start as if you never played. Just pay attention and don't delete the entire "Saved" folder after you did a copy, or you will also lose custom controls and game settings such as under the Graphics tab.
