Way to make yourself look like a fool.
One could argue that creating their own servers could fix this, but I reckon that it would require a great deal of time and resources, that could instead be used to create new content such as weapons, biomes, missions and so on.
No one is "splitting" the gaming community, it's just a technical/financial hurdle that isn't going to be tackled any time soon; or possibly ever.
Its a technical and financial hurdle.
It´s splitting the game comunity because now people play on different platforms on pc that don´t let them play together, if they just stood in one platform, or maybe do like EGS being able to link accounts, that wouldn´t be a problem
I might be a fool, but i remember when you were able to play with friends on PC with no problem.
It's only on Windows store because it's also on Xbox console, the two go hand in hand.
It's not as simple as just giving you a free copy on Steam because you own it on Windows, they are two different store fronts. Store fronts take a cut of the sales, the dev's would have to pocket the loss.
If you have friends who buy games on the Windows store, you need new friends lol; no offense.
The point is in the other street mate, im saying that if they let you atleast link the accounts like Epic Games Store that wouldn´t be a problem
Not sure what you're trying to say, link what account to what account; and to what end?
When WWZ Aftermath came out, as such other games on EGS as well in Steam, you had the option to link both accounts, so you can play with friends that own the game in the other platform
That wouldn't work for DRG, as I've explained already.
DRG relies on each store fronts unique back end for matchmaking, friends lists, lobbies, etc.. those backends aren't compatible without some middleman like a dedicated server. The Windows/Xbox version is also literally a different game in some ways to the Steam version.
True crossplay between all platforms would require a lot of work on a middleman solution that DRG just can't spare the time or resources for currently.
Unless either side provides servers.
