Power station not connecting to the "hack-line"?
Title says it all, just had a match where the second Power Station didn't connected to the hack nodes, no matter how close we placed the last node. :( Anyone else have experienced this?

did you make sure there was a direct sightline between the node and power station?

I had this problem once. Tried multiple angles, etc.
We did fix it by digging around the data deposit though

The nodes need Line of sight to connect. Maybe there was some terrain in the way under the power station and you couldn't see it?

Yeah it had a clear line of sight.

We kept screwing around, replacing nodes, placing new ones, nothing helped so we quit the game (~30 mins wasted) :(

ah seems is was one of the Power station in industrial sabotage primary mission and not random Power station on a mission. so you had to abort the mission.

it's seems like a new bug, i not met it yet.. but if i was there, could try place the beacon pretty far so the laser will point up the Power station top (in range of the green circle). need practice more with this to see if is one of game breaker bugs.

If something is covering the top of the power station it wont connect either. I had that happen and I had to dig my way above it and then clean the top of it off before the node would connect. Can't see from the screenshot if that was the case here.

So glad this was posted- I encountered a Power Station randomly on my Last Mission and also spent 30+ minutes and couldn't connect it- and the Miner's Manual had NO HELP as to why, just "connect the data nodes" - I've been busy and not playing as much, so this was my first one- haven't done the actual Industrial Sabotage Mission yet

In my case I was on Hollow Bough and the map had extreme heights, valleys, and deep pits- I got the whole green circle placement, but no matter how I placed the Last relay, the Power Station would never activate- I even massively dug out the bottom, and put 4 relays AROUND the Station- Lots of cool Looking beams, but nothing ever activated

I was seeing 2 data streams- the Matrix-ey alphanumeric stream was Linked to all the relay nodes, but a 2nd "pulse" Like stream from the Hack Node was shooting up from a slope below and was off target from the Power Station- I'm guessing the terrain has to be mostly flat for the 2nd "main pulse" beam to Link, because even though I chopped thru terrain to get all the Nodes to Link, it was still a fairly steep slope

Also, as Erin the Angry stated, there WAS a part of the Power Station Lodged in the roof of the cavern, I think now that, and the slope was the reason maybe I couldn't Link it

What really sucked was it was a Point Extraction Mission and I was Solo- really SO NOT FUN to try and puzzle out a problem as swarm after swarm came with greater frequency- in the end I just plain ran out of ammo, and as I was being stubborn, trying to figure out what wasn't working, I rationalized I was standing with 5 Aquarqs and a Jadiz in a pile, running out of ammo, and the Mission was the 3rd one to unlock the Hurricane, plus a 2X Engineer Season Challenge Bonus ender- I Literally made the Drop Pod back with zero extra Lives, 5 Shotgun Shells, and the countdown at zero- my Dwarf actually said "Damn you Deep Rock Galactic" for the Fail, but I got Super Lucky and it registered me as making the Pod and NOT a Mission Fail- would have been VERY Pis sed to have wasted 70+ minutes total

So I almost had to re-do that 3rd Hurricane Unlock Mission, and the 2X Engie Bonus which unlocked 2 Levels of Season Loot- all because I couldn't get the damn Nodes to activate

Still would have been nice to get that extra Data Core I put 30+ minutes into (at Least) trying to figure out, going mostly pickaxe and getting KO'd 3 times for

Yeah that sucks. The weird encounter I had was also in the stablands and the power station thing was partially lodged inside one of the long walkable "bridges" covered in red thorny vines. Just the very top of it was stuck inside it and after some puzzling around with the team I got on top and dug down through, landed on top and cleared away the terrain touching the top of the station. I think there is a little "antenna" on top. Next time you do a hack, check where the green beam actually meets up with the station and that will show you where it needed to be cleared off. Also, I have had a hack interrupted by an engineer platform that went wayward and I had to disengage from the pod to go check the line and find it. That was interesting.

Groovy Erin

Thanks for the info- seriously, I was going to do a Post asking what was up then decided I'd do a Topic Search, but that can be a mixed bag, but then this Post was up and gave me good insight into what went wrong

We ran into one of these last night where it wouldn't connect, so we took some advice and mined out the entire thing until all the loose ground crumbled. It didn't connect up top, but as we moved the relays around, it eventually connected way low in the solid base. It seems like the uneven terrain threw it off somehow.

2-3 year old thread, by the way
