Glyphid Dreadnaught's stomp really needs a nerf
I was at full health when he 1HKO'd me at Haz 4.5 (first stage of elite dive)

Was trying to farm one extra blank since I'm running out by playing this game a little much, but whatever.

Shift+W metaphorically renders you immune to the damage (and most things in the entire game). If you are hit by it, you failed.

Consider not standing next to the Dread. Maybe even bring Dash.

There's a difference between challenging but fair and downright unfair because the numbers are too high. This is definitely the latter.

One mistake shouldn't dictate that you failed. It's simply bad design if it does.

Same as above reply, I mean I know this but my view still stands.

Normally I'd agree, but it's so far telegraphed with the fact that you need to be 5 feet away for the boss to even think about doing it, then they roar first to let you know it's coming, then they take a full second to do the stomp, and the range on it is so tiny, and your dwarf is so speedy...

Face the facts. There's no reason anyone but the greenest of beards (or other outstanding cirucumstances) should be getting hit by the stomp. It's not difficult. Face the other way, press shift+w, win the game.

If it is truly a one shot, then I would say it should be toned down a tad.

What about small tunnels?

Some actually constructive advice for the OP, Whatever distance you think you're toeing while avoiding the stomp-attack, Double it, It's sneakily larger then one first thinks.

I agree with this as well. This is why I waited until now before I bothered to make a topic talking about it.

I was at full health with a full shield and it still 1 shotted me, that's really the problem here, I don't even mind that the move itself is strong for the reasons you stated.

And this just might be bad luck, but it roared just as I finished firing my weapon, there's a lag time between that and being allowed to shift+w.

Yep. It was a true one-shot, full health and full shield and everything. And the arena was this week's elite dive 1st stage, it wasn't a big place.

No I know this, I very rarely get hit by the attack, as I should, it's more the fact that you're not allowed one mistake when that one time you do misstep happens.

You decide where and when to fight dreads, unless they spawn in a wave (or someone makes a mistake). You can alter terrain so there's no "wasn't a big place" excuse.

For this reason you could wait until you can get the Rocky Mountain beer, unless you're playing as driller.

How many mistakes do you feel that you should be allowed? In this case though, I'm curious what armour mods you've selected, are you running extra shield or health?

Also here there's a beer you could opt for, Red Rock Blaster, for extra health.

You know what, that's a fair point. I always force myself or one of my friends to play Driller in DIves.

Not zero, that's for sure.

I do believe I'm running extra health but not shield, I'll have to double check.

I don't really like the "waiting for beer" excuse, unless there's an exploit I'm not aware of. I do have a life outside of this game.

I don't think it's that big of a deal. If you're playing with other people then they can revive you. If you playing alone then Bosco will (and the stomp animation gets slowed way down so it's incredibly easy to avoid). It's not like dying to it is the end of the world.

Fighting against the Glyphid Dreadnought, I expect at least 1-2 people to go down while fighting it, They're built tough, And hit hard, And I always "Dread" fighting them, But in a good way, It's an exceptional challenge.
