Is it cheating to share my save file with a friend?
And is it possible to do so in the first place? Since the saves are kept on my computer, it sounds like it should be doable, but who knows.

I feel I have very good justification why I want to go that route with said friend. He just has very little time to play games. Every now and then, though, he sets time aside to organize old-fashioned LAN parties over the weekend, with me and a couple of other friends. The downside of that is that we only have 2 days to play together.

And this requires that we play titles where you can jump straight into the action - like L4D, Quake 3, Serious Sam... But when you've played them over and over again, the gamer within craves something new.

With DRG, I feel like Haz 2 was intended as the difficulty for newbies with 0 upgrades... but the large pauses between waves tend to make it boring to play in. The big fights happen at haz 3 and above, but I just can't imagine doing, say, Haz 4 as a lvl 1 with 0 upgrades and having fun while at it. A fully leveled party will be able to carry you, no problem, but you will feel useless all throughout.

I guess I just want to give him a first-time experience of DRG where everything is unlocked, so he can play around with classes, weapons (+ their upgrades) and perks as he wishes, rather than having to strategize what he gets and when.

If sharing a save file is no-go, then maybe there's a mod that does it? In any case... ROCK AND STONE!

I don't believe it's cheating if we're talking about in terms of ToS. They allow mods so it's kind of too late to complain about save shares.

As for sharing your save with someone. Yes, it's possible. You'd need to go to the DRG folder in steam and find the saves in Deep Rock Galactic>FSD>Saved>SaveGames and find a long digit file ending with _Player.sav. You will then need to give them that file and have them change the digits to what their save file is and then back up their current saves. Delete the ones in the folder and place the new one there. Game should take the save and use it as their own.

It's cheating, but no; you won't get in trouble.

I used my old save from my other profile, if people think its cheating ♥♥♥♥ em. I'm not redoing 1000+ hours of game time and effort.

As for your friend its up to him, not everyone has the time or wants to grind for everything so I find it understandable. At the end of the day it isn't hurting anyone and the point of games is to have fun. It depends on the game though I guess, this game its fine.

In case something goes wrong with one. Losing it, forgetting the details, unjust bans, stalkers, harassment or maybe wanting a new start. Quite a few reasons I'd start anew.

to share a save you would just have to send the friend ur save file the .sav and it has a big number (000000000_Player.sav) and the big number is ur steam id for them to use ur save they need to download ur save and just change the number on it to the number that is on their save file then replace their save file with the one u game them

Sounds like you are setting yourself up for failure. Ive had my account for 13 years and never had an issue.
Instead of making new accounts, try fixing the issues you encounter and own your mistakes if you get banned for something.

Its ''morally'' considered cheating, but there are no consequences for it.
DRG is a coop PvE game, not a game where progression or stats matters to others.
You do you, and if sharing files is bothersome there are mods that allow you to unlock things. At the cost of having to make a new savefile and not being able to play with people that have not used sandbox mods with that save.
