Are DLCs purely cosmetic?

All DLCs are cosmetic only, usually including new skins or models for weapons, armor, pickaxes and Bosco.

yes. It's all only for looks. Just pick what looks cool to you. Otherwise, game has a crap load already that they keep adding to every update.

It's a method of monetization the community itself recommended. When the game released instead of raising the price of the base game, they decided to make a small cosmetic dlc which was well received.

So every major update provides it's features (enemies, weapons, events, etc.) with a bunch of new free cosmetics along side a single cosmetic set for those of us who want to continue supporting. It's a pretty cool thing to see when you've witnessed it from start to finish.

Yeah! The functional stuff (like new enemies and weapons) is always free. So buy a dlc to support the devs
