EPC Overclock Heatpipe?
I didn't play my Driller for quite a while, sometimes I would play it with the EPC, where I take all the middle Modifiers and the overclock "Heatpipe".
That combination would work very well, I could charge up relatively fast, let it go and then still squeeze out a normal shot behind it to bring it to a explosion to hit a crowd of bugs.

But now this combination is unplayable. The charged shot is barely full and you already get a overheat, which makes it impossible to shoot a normal shot afterwards.
So I tried to take instead "Crystal Capacitors" the "Tweaked Radiator" trying to get to the point where this overclock is usable again in a "Thin Containment Field" setup ... but nope. Since "Tweaked Radiator" only increases the cooling rate it still overheats right away.

My question is here now, what is the point of this change? Like this the overclock is useless, unless you run "Flying Nightmare".

The stupid thing is basically untouched and EPC-miners are whining about how it's dead and ruined when all they needed to do was change ONE MOD that didn't even help much in the first place, and then go cry about being called meta-slaves. What a joke; so appropriate that the build almost sounds like "baby". Can't believe I wasted time to test this.

Hope it gets an actual nerf. You guys seriously need to get a grip and actually try the things before you start screaming about how it's useless.
This thread was someone talking about using plasma to kill things and you're trying to hijack it to talk about how much you hate miners. You need to calm down, dude. Getting this mad over people playing the game in a way you don't like isn't reasonable. Also it's kinda bad for the forum too.

The thread was about TCF, people for TCF. All TCF combat builds are also mining builds, there's no split. It's just about when/where you're using them. One of those is used almost exclusively, and it sure isn't combat.

The old way with heatpipe still works fine, and if that isn't acceptable for some mysterious reason, there's the answer of "use energy rerouting" which also works.
I gave a build that works very well, I don't think I would be doing that if I was so full of hate and didn't want people to ever touch the thing.

What's worse for the forum than some random nobody being a bit upset and complaining about EPC is there being twenty recent threads on the stupid mining function / heatpipe / general whining about "ruining it", when it works exactly the same as it did before the update

So why don't you go complain about mining in one of the threads that actually have mining as the subject instead of here? This is a thread about using plasma in combat and you're still talking about how much you hate mining. Get help, you're obsessed.

Why would I bump another inactive TCF and/or heatpipe thread when we're already posting in a TCF+heatpipe thread? Mining is part of TCF, and the part that nearly everyone even touches the gun for. Anyone looking for the info is likely to be looking for mining. Any talk of its combat applications includes its mining applications - there's no separation, they're done with the exact same function and all builds on it work the same for both.

The thread was for heatpipe on TCF, which was answered. It works just the same as it did before.

I go for heat shield on 2 and crystal capacitor on 3 and it works with heat pipe. It works - dont overheat after folow up shot too so it has some leeway at least but it must be done snappy.
After forgetting this, I just tried out Tier 2 Heat Shield and while it does make some difference ... it is not a huge one.
I didn't play my Driller in like forever because I get close to 3* last promotion.

No#1, I am not a EPC Miner.

No#2, No it does not work like it used to. I didn't play my Driller for a good 2 or so weeks prior to that update, so my setup was unchanged. If you use Heatpipe and then choose the whole row center for the Modifications ... charging up the shot almost instantly causes the weapon to overheat. Yes you can switch Tier 2 from Overcharged Plasma Accelerator to Heat Shield ... but in my test just now it makes very little difference. One moment charging too long = Overheat.
I think they nerfed the Thin Containment Field it used to prevent the weapon from instant overheating when charging a shot. Seems not anymore.

No#3 ... Seems you really hate the EPC ... then just do it like I do it ... don't use it. I use it very very very few times ... because for Mining there is a Scout&Engineer and in combat the primary fire spreads too much to be of any use on longer ranges and the "Shock Combo" takes quite long to pull off plus the projectile has such a big hitbox that allot of the time you have to aim well above everything to pull it off.
For close combat I have a Flamethrower/Cryo Cannon so what I really need is either something for those pesky Mactera which is the Subata or I want to be able to demolish more terrain ... then and only then I grab the EPC. As weapon ... it is a failure ... at least for me.

No#4 It is sad. My question here in this thread was Is there any other use for Heatpipe? since obviously It doesn't work like before on the old Shock Combo build I was using. But seemingly no one is using Flying Nightmare with it ...
Really sad, that this ends up in a mudfight. But whatever.
Hopefully the developers re-evaluate their stance on mining. Or revert the exloding minerals change. It's pretty annoying right now.
Without TCF charged short+heat pipe should work like it did before. Overheat from basic weapons charged got moved onto heat pipe messing specifically TCF.
Flying nightmare is mediocre. It can oneshot grunts in 2 combinations now with full ammo and overcharger or heat pipe and all damage so theres use for Pipe i suppose but unless you take improved efficiency together with Pipe totall number of charged shots differs little but with pipe you cant shoot as frequently and without crystal capacitors charging is too slow for combat.

With how i ended i'd much rather have ammo nodes combined and put in place of plasma burn. Would make for a 'dreaded mining' nerf and allow to empower combat power TCF and Nightmare freely without worrying that it'd become too much totall damage if people take extra ammo nodes. And with no need to majorly mess Pipe to spite TCF.
