Last bugfix was supposed to fix it but I heard it just made it more common (?)
Sadly your current options are:
1.turn difficulty to cakewalk level
2.avoid all exterminate missions (and be lucky to not gain that from random spawn from wave)
Some persons take the option 3.ROCK AND STONE!, and take that as optional ultra difficult boss that the game gifted to them. Remember these things are now a "extra spicy"
and might never happen again so choose well
Last time I fought them today (had to in an assignment) nobody took any damage once we established the burst-one approach after they first synched their health.
That bug made it utterly boring and it felt like it took forever but it was also completly trivial.
They do teleport around/use it a bit too much, but good to know it's a bug that's gonna be fixed.
Not saying that bugs/imbalance are okay or should be part of the highest difficulties, but friendly reminder that it's totally fine to turn down the difficulty when one needs to. Unless one enjoys the challenge, but if not, that's why difficulty settings are there, to be used.
They just spam their invulnerable phase and health share non stop, killing them takes an absurdly long amount of time, (but isn't that hard if you're patient.)
Hopefully it get's sorted soon.
As far as what I can see they seem to heal 1/2 of their damage taken if they start taking damage with one having much lower health than the other (at least based on how much bar they gain versus how much of a bar they lose)
So one hand if one of the twin has 60% health and the other 100%, they equalize at 90% instead of 80%, resulting in 20% of the damage dealt being lost / healed.
I am unsure if this is also related or simply a coincidence, but when I've played in an Oil Refining mission with the team I play with, we were hit with an exceptionally massive horde that never stopped spawning to the point of comedy. I understand things are always rough when you first land and sometimes the hardest part of Oil Refining is simply securing the area - but something didn't seem right. It may be worth double checking the numbers to make sure something isn't affecting it in some way.
They unfortunately share health with a net gain, which is a strange concept admittedly. This means you must attack each evenly - you can typically do this by assigning two miners to attack one, and two to attack the other. If you attempt to kill them by having everyone attacking one, you will run out of munitions very quickly - bugged twins or not! If you attack them evenly, that net gain is minimal if present at all. It is very substantial otherwise.
don't worry, it's been reported 50 times at the very least already :P
If anything, spread the word in game so people know to watch out for the coming hotfix.
