Deep Rock Galactic
what missions have the best chance for machine events?

none of them, deep rock actually has an experimental "desire sensor" which can tell how badly you want overclocks
the trick is to pretend you don't care about getting them. but it may already be too late. now that you've made this forum thread, the desire sensor will analyse it and reduce your chances of getting a machine event to an effective %0

The best way to farm Machine Event might have been PE, mostly due to the way the cave is generated, allowing scout to fully scour the unexplored locations in under a minute.

Then it's just a matter of waiting out the first wave, then immediately start the machine event so that there won't be a chance that the second wave strikes during the event.

Of course, it's also much tougher due to steady waves of bugs including swarms, so you might end up doing 1st wave > machine event > and almost right after that get the 2nd wave coming, thus putting a big strain on nitra

EDIT:
If you aren't about completing the mission, but just the Machine Event, your best bet would be Refinery instead. Drop in, find the machine event in under a minute since you don't need to do the pumpjack / laying down pipes. Get the machine event done, and just abandon the mission. Doing PE is better only if you want to complete the mission too, but if you are just in it for the cores, Refinery might be the best bet since it does not scale the spawn with time, but completing the mission takes average 20-30 minutes versus PE's 10-15 minutes.

Some people think PE, not saying they are right; just that I've heard it said.
I checked with the devs on this. It's The same. PEs are just smaller so you're more likely to find it

Ahhh, that makes sense.

Please mark this as answer, not because its true but because its real.

They must have upgraded it... I thought that logic only applied to WHICH overclock you'd be awarded... I had to REALLY, REALLY not want to get Carpet Bomber.... Return to Sender was a LOT easier to get once they nerfed it. :D

Since almost everyone here is saying that the spawn chance of a machine event is a constant 25%, I assume the fandom wiki entry is out of date then? Anyone know when it was changed? https://deeprockgalactic.fandom.com/wiki/Machine_Events

That's because this thread is a year old? Lol.

It's changed since then.
