Reddit is weird.
My comment explaining that some disobedience has to be tolerated in co-op is now my second most downvoted comment on reddit, with first place going to a former comment in the same post saying "IMO kicking someone for killing a bulk in the wrong place is kind of petty"

My pride isn't really hurt per se, but I'm confused. Is this just a reddit downvote dogpile or is the following sentiment really so unpopular?

"Co-op is a two-way street. If you aren't willing to tolerate people who don't bow to your every command then you are just as much of a hassle as people who don't cooperate at all"

For context, this was in a reddit post where the poster stated that he kicked a latejoiner because they didn't let the OP kill a bulk detonator in a crassus crater (they also mention calling a resupply afterward but without more info I can't say if that was uncalled for or not. Besides, the original post makes it seem like the crassus was the major offense and the resupply was at best a last straw).

Reddit is good for one thing. Niche Porn. Past that, there is nothing much there of value.

The DRG subreddit is fine for what it is...which is not the steam forums. I can poke around in the DRG steam forums for long periods of time. I can flit through the DRG subreddit in 3-5 minute chunks here and there scrolling past the stuff I don't care about which is 9 out of 10 posts. There's nothing wrong with it...it's more of a hodge podge lounge of whatever. So I have nothing against it. It occasionally makes me chuckle, cringe, eyeroll, etc...

As far as downvoting...there's no rules, there's no "common" thing that gets posts and comments downvoted for the most part. Be clear that virtually EVERY SINGLE THING that gets votes is downvoted and you only see it if there weren't at least as many upvotes. I rarely vote at all, but I don't down vote any legit opinion even if I disagree with it. That's the nature of discussion.

If someone is wrong in factual answer to a legit question, I'll respond and correct it (ex: "No, there are 2 swarms per 6 eggs not 3"), but I don't down vote the original answer. Most people however, down vote everything they disagree with, everything that think is wrong, every meme because they hate it when people post them, etc - I just don't care enough. Takes me longer to downvote 1 thing than it does to scroll past 10 things I don't care about.

I agree that is the way the game is designed, but also that is the most toxic ♥♥♥♥ anyone can do. At the end of the day, just don't play with hosts like that, problem solved for both parties.

(Also, are we done ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on Reddit? Because I really hate Reddit.)

reddit is reddit
it's a big old mess of insanity and weirdness that honest feels alien to look at
best to step far back and not deal with it, like trying to talk to a brick wall: pointless

Sometimes people are reasonable, and sometimes they aren't. I agree, you can't expect the perfect teammate everytime, let alone ones you can order around like a dog, as no one has to put up with that.

You don't get downvoted if you dont post.

I've never participated in Reddit, Twitter, FB, InstantGrams etc and i would almost guarantee i have less stress, less sex and a happier life than you don't.

How can you expect people to read books if they can't even read the in-game chat?

I've used Reddit in the past, and from what I've seen, I can tell you this is how people on their decide on what to vote: Unless your post is 100% agreeable, beyond a doubt, you will likely get downvoted. You can make a post about how murdering people is bad, but if you include a single opinion or statement that people might argue over, you get downvoted.

The entire site is a huge echo-chamber, or rather, a series of smaller echo-chambers. Each subreddit doesn't tolerate "normie" outsiders, so unless you completely go through with their way of thinking, they won't like you. I've seen subreddits with forum rule lists stretching down the entire page, many of the so-called "rules" being, "agree with us or die."

There's a few good subreddits, usually the ones where people simply talk about science or just post cool pictures they took. But subreddits about video games or politics are complete dumpster fires, and should be avoided at all costs.

Yea, I pretty much agree with everything said here.

I see issue with it.
Kicking someone who just joined for killing an enemy, though? ♥♥♥♥ on them and tell them not to do it again then move on. Jeez. It's just gold.
