but i do agree, this game gets boring fast
2) Logic does not always make sense for game design purposes. If you don't like exploring caves, finding minerals, and mining them, then you bought the wrong game.
3) This is likely a design choice to force players to orient themselves without using a map as a crutch. It makes for some interesting scenarios when you need to decide whether checking your map is more worthwhile than getting your leg chewed off. Love it or hate it, it is what it is.
4) Hold CTRL.
If you don't like the game then don't play it. Cya.
2. Finding minerals is easy. Use your eyeballs.
3/4. Honestly having a constant minimap would be annoying for me. Once you get the hang of how each mission type's cave generation works, you hardly need the map at all. A minimap would just get in the way. Making it slow to use was a conscious choice as well. It forces you to clear out any enemies you're fighting first before you can use it. If you ask me, it's much more immersive. To each their own I guess. It's not getting changed either way.
I like chocolate icecream and will defend it to my death. People want to change it to vanilla and call people icecream shills.
- Sorry but the grind is not all that big at all, unless you really want every piece of cosmetic. It's not a MMO/warframe/dead by daylight/pick whatever with endless grind
- Are you... really complaining about not being able to find stuff ? What ?? Even if exploration isn't that big of a deal, it's still part of the game.
- You can also just tap *control* to see everything around, you don't need to open the map everytime unless you want detailled information
- Then again, just tap control.
I mean, the game can get repetitive for some people, I get that. But none of your complaints really are actual complaints...
1. Playing just to unlock things isn't fun. or,
2. There's an incentive to pay to unlock things faster.
DRG is fun to play (opinion) and you'll quickly get the credits/minerals needed to unlock things without much of a focus on grinding. And there's no incentive to pay to unlock things faster. Hell, there's no micro-transactions whatsoever.
It depends on your definition of "grind", ours simply differ. Being forced to do repetitive, monotonous tasks when you would rather be doing something else is, very broadly speaking, a grind. Sure, you could play word games and "prove" to me that you can define any game as a grind, but I think we both know what we are talking about here.
And the little mini mules you see on some missions? Apparently Management mustve tried sending all dwarves out to avoid situations like BET-C, but ended up with alot more lost MULES than was proftable because so many dwarves just didnt have the backup to deal with the nasties. Maybe now their method is a little mix of both so that parasites can be kept off the machines, and the machines are at a proper level to help the dwarves finish missions more reliably?
2. i dont get your point here? i actually like the universe and theme
3. CTRL mostly
4. CTRL
sounds like this is just not the game for you
i'd suggest giving it another chance since i love it
Now if you say there's not much grind then I'll agree with you, but acting like there's none at all is wrong. If there was none then we wouldn't have levels or resources or anything like that. Just start with everything. That'd be 100% grind free. And also kinda weird probably.
Having a progression system does not imply grind. Our definitions differ, as I already stated. Everyone and their dog will have a different opinion on what, exactly, grind means.
We could go on some offrail tangent and define the word over several posts, but I don't view that as a productive endeavor.
