How modding works in multiplayer?
In simple terms, I play with my friends, usually in teams of 3 or 4.

Now I saw the nexus has interesting mods and considered getting some, but ofc, I dont want to install something that would block me playing with my friends, which is the whole point.

So do we all need the same mods to play together? If not, then would my mods simply deactivate when I join their games?

Depends on the mod. Some mods only require the host to have it. Other mods (such as the ones that change cave generation) need the clients to install as well.

There's a github with a list of mods and their requirements.

I see, thanks for the help.

I will take a look in this then. I will pick ones that only affect my game, here and there and that wont bother them unless they also want to download.

Remember to name your lobby so random players aren't caught off guard when joining.

Otherwise, enjoy the big challenging ones. H6-7, Starship Troopers, etc.

Don't feel bad about using certain mods like "reduce nitra cost to 60" with them. I played with someone who had H7 and thought it was a nice balance personally.

If you use anything that increases the enemy numbers though I highly recommend "Quarter Death Duration - v1.4" for anyone who might have trouble performance wise.
