Looking for a new game to scratch that itch...

Just wondering what game(s) that you, the DRG community, would recommend. Some sort of shooter/slasher would be great.

I was looking at Vermintide 2, and for $9 it's a steal, but it looks like DLC hell.

Tried Helldivers... it's kinda meh.

L4D2/Synthetik/DRG are all good fun, looking for more games like this!

I bought DRG cause I love Earth Defense Force and Monster Hunter series, somehow DRG scratch my itch while waiting for EDF6 and MH:Rise releasing on PC

I would advice against V2 since Fatshark is very well known by screwing up a good product after each patch in one way or another. If you get one good patch (somehow) be sure they will ruin it in the next, guaranteed 100%.
The balance is quite bad (you can breeze on max difficulty as true solo with some classes without being good), DLCs are a must because weapons lol balance, a lot of grind, modding community dead thanks to the whitelist system they have etc.

DRG is the best co-op game in the market right now, if you want to spice things up with PvP "sadly", L4D2 is still the best in the market even after 12 years and no, b4b is not good.

Gunfire reborn is ok, if you have friends you would enjoy it quite a bit.
What do you mean by slashers? Something like Gauntlet? If you're a masochist with games like me, take a look at Vagante since it's also co-op, an absurdly hard game but quite enjoyable and rewarding. Barony is also alright and co-op. If you fancy beat em ups, D&D Mystara is a really good one.
If you can withstand anime cringe in general, Code Vein and God Eater series are quite nice with coop as well.

So hum I haven't played them at all but GTFO, dungeons and dragons dark alliance and A have the same spirit as DRG. GTFO is a LOT more difficult though, and DD Dark Alliance made some wonky debuts.

It's not DLC hell on vermintid 2e, there are only two map packs you MAY want to get, but buy the base on sale and see if you like it, if you do then JUST get the map packs the rest are cosmetics apart from one class (wood elf mage woman thingy) and some weapon pack (that is also pretty cheap, but you dont NEED it)

I would suggest Earth Defense Force 5. It's dumb but incredibly fun and quite challenging.

I wouldn't say you "need" to buy anything. Its just that its rather common that dlc weapons are top tier.
The new classes aren't on the lower side either. Also w're already at 3 classes, not 1.
Wouldn't call any of those cheap, but each can judge themselfs.


In most cases you can't buy weapons or maps, only weapons and maps. Only their first dlc and a recent weapon pack are one side only.

SoB, shadows over bogenhafen are maps only, used to come with earnable cosmetics, but shifted now to currency to buy some cosmetics at poor rates.

BtU, back to ubersreik is maps, weapons and unlockable skins for those weapons.

WoM, winds of magic is a map, a dead gamemode (or premade only, dead outsides of), new weapons, a new highest difficulty (same rewards) and a new enemy race which was poorly balanced and imo still is.

GK, grail knight class and weapons for that hero.
GK cosmetic sub dlc.
OE, outcast engineer class and weapons.
OE cosmetic sub dlc.
Sott, Sisther of the thorn class and weapons.
