Co-Op player records & cheating issues?
OK, so the game is meant to be co-op. Are there a hack/cheating problem that ruins the game? Also, is there a win-loss record keeping or rank system?

- You can see your total of missions played but nothing like a win-loss record really. Just a lot of different stats.
- The only rank system is player level. That's about it.
- There are some cheats out there that can affect your save but you can always roll back your save to get rid of stuff you don't want.

Cheating/hacking is very rare in my experience.

You can rank up indefinitely.

There's plenty of ways to cheat, Wemod / Cheat engine and I assume other trainers, and to a lesser extent, mods that make the game easier. Mod support is coming and you'll be able to avoid modded lobbies, VAC anticheat is not coming though and how many cheaters are around using trainers and such is up for debate. At any rate, you're probably gonna see only the annoying or bad ones, but as a general rule the number of cheaters in games is higher than most people normally think.

Still, I'd say the cheating doesn't ruin the game, in this particular occasion. It's not PvP, the ways to grief are limited, and you're generally not forced to play with anyone. I wouldn't worry too much about folks running around with infinite ammo and such.

Cheaters usually don't stick around for long either and they are usually coming back around after big updates.
In 1000 hours, I've nevet yet met one personally.

Well not one that affected me. MAybe I ran into some but I don't really have any ways to see their 4M ressources, credits and blank cores.

OK, Ill buy the game. I'm bummed that the single player campaign isn't much, or so I think. The co-op seems OK without alot of cheating & the community being toxic over records. Is that about right to you?

all in game stats are recorded but are irrelevent and noone really cares about it. otherwise cheaters are far and few at most people are using mods that only effect them like a stronger flashlight.

edit: and cheaters cant really ruin anything for you. just kick them :)

There's no campaign. The game is just about doing missions in caves. You can either go solo or with a group. If you choose to go solo, you get a little robot to help you out.

I wouldn't even say the community is toxic. There's a vocal minority that likes whining passionately over insignificant elements. The general community is fairly relaxed.

There is no singleplayer campaign outside of a single tutorial mission. It's an arcade coop game and meant to be played with others.

As for the cheating, you can eliminate it almost entirely by hosting your own missions.

Sounds like it's worth 15 bucks. Non toxic community, fun play. What about bugs & lag or other such issues?

The game is peer to peer so the lag is entirely up to the host's internet. And if you're hosting, you basically have no problems.

Bugs are presents, like in any other game. The most common ones aren't gamebreaking but can be annoying to some extent. There are still mostly rare.

yes if the host has good internet then your lag is your fault, at the same time if everyone is lagging except the host then the host internet is lagging.

bugs are rare but not that big of a deal especially since the game isnt designed in a way where a bug can ruin it. you are never stuck or getting declined progress or anything due to them. usually its comical to witness a bug.

the host server system is pretty loose and allows the host control of who is kicked and such. and there is a system where if you complete the objective you cant be kicked so it prevents hosts from trolling people. subsequently you can easily kick people as the host if they are deliberatly trolling but generally its rare for you to get kicked as long as you are playing normally and being chill.

I ran speedtest .....

384.7 Mbps download
466.7 Mbps upload
3ms latency

I figure this should do as a host.

Aye, that's more or less my point. You probably met scores of 'em, but it hasn't (supposedly) affected you. A quick search on google tells me there's plenty of cheat engine tables for DRG, and they've all been downloaded thousands of times. Were it a pvp game, it might've been a slightly different story, but as it is, I'd say it's alright for everyone.
